Morey is a huge part of it. We might as well get an enforcer type of big man like Miami did with Birdman and embrace the bad boy role.
http://probasketballtalk.nbcsports....m-rest-of-rockets/?ocid=Yahoo&partner=ya5nbcs This was still on the front page of Yahoo just now. No correction made to the story yet.
Lol he joined a team that missed the playoffs in the East. An easier path would have been him coming to Houston with Dwight and Harden.
People seem annoyed with Morey but I don't think we're catching heat because he's hurting players' feelings and making them feel like chess pieces. I think it's the other GM's, annoyed with him stealing Asik/Lin, winning trades, being called "Dork Elvis", getting attention without winning... he's made the best 2 acquisitions the past 2 years and cant get anywhere near GM of the Year.
lol cause thats how the NBA works just like how if Miami had Luol Deng instead of LeBron in the finals, Kawhi Leonard doesn't make his first 3pt shot in game 1 = confidence destroyed = Miami Heat 2014 champions
The Rockets aren't "villains"... they are just being picked on and kicked while they are down because people dislike their arrogance. To be a villain, you have to be a real threat. Right now, the Rickets aren't the "bad boy" at school. They are the kid with the "kick me" sign on their back.
The whole point is building a team. Building chemistry. So when you've got someone who does things on a trial and error basis as much as Morey, 2 big acquisitions dont count , especially with a first round loss. I think GM's and the media respect sharpshooters, Jerry west type gm's as opposed to the semi automatic spattering of moves Morey makes and hope that one fits. It can seem childish and lacking direction, I see where they are coming from. That being said, winning changes everything and once the rockets start getting to the WCF or further he will get his dues. He has had 7 years after all, results are needed.
We've been villains ever since the Skip (Rafer Alston) days. You guys remember a game against Phoenix where Matt Barnes starts a fight with Skip? After the game, most of the sports media put Skip as the villain.
You can say that about any trade, without the moneyball nomenclature. Doe every harden, there are 10 Thomas robinson's, that SF we got from Denver last year even though we could have used brooks in the playoffs, etc.

Stop it. This ain't the media. This is the Rockets. Jeremy Lin jersey-number-gate---Jeremy speaks out; Morey doesn't tell him beforehand. D-Scrub running his mouth overseas---James Harden wouldn't accept being the 3rd highest paid player and his latest interview(supposedly a "bad translation" of what he said) Parsons signing with the Mavs---felt disrespected by the Rockets/Morey in free agency. Howard says they'll be fine without him. Parsons says he didn't mean that way. James Harden feels the need to speak up, says he and Dwight are stars, everyone else is just a role player. Parsons responds by tweeting "Think before you speak." Lin agrees with James that everyone else is "just a role player". Daryl "I'm the smartest guy in the room" Morey Dwight "best center in the league" Howard James "best two guard in the league" Harden Can't get out of the first round.
Problem is they aren't the 'bad boys'. They're just the target of bored, dumb fans. If this helps them win a playoff series - great. Winning would be a welcome change around here.
