IW never did one thing to help the problem...they said they solved the one man army issue and that really never took place. There have been so many people yelling and screaming for minor changes to the multiplayer aspect of the game but IW failed to step up and put in the work to alleviate some issues. On the other hand, Treyarch has been incredibly involved with the community. They will actually listen to people and try to improve aspects of the game that are subpar. And the fact that there is no commando perk automatically makes Black Ops the superior multiplayer game.
Treyarch has never made a good online game...... EVER, I find it hard to believe they listen to their fan base because they have always made complete crap in thre cod series And what was infinity ward going to do? They could not simplt take perks out of the game, do you really think that is feasible? The onlt unfair perk in my view is stopping power.
played MOH today and I enjoyed it... Nice to play a game where you dont have idiots commando knifing...
imo.... Cod4 > MW2....which is probably why there's still a pretty good fan base. I wish they'd make some good LARGE map games again. Like Battle Field 2, or BF Vietnam etc.
I'm just gonna use this post to gripe about MW2 and cod in general.
I have played cod since the beginning. Perhaps it's a product of nostalgia, but my friends (serious gamer dudezzz) and I will be picking up black ops. The reason is because MW2 was such a disappointment. That game could have been great, but they just wanted to sell copies. RC Cola is right, eff Activision and now Infinity Ward as well. There were so many things wrong with MW2. After the first month of the game I had a kdr of 2.7 or something. My friend (rez if you remember izeno) had a 3.5. I have played a lot of FPS, and MW2 has been the biggest let down ever. I would say about 6 months into the game, after all the OP stuff was exploited in the game, my KD fell to about 1.5 and my friend's to about 2.5. That's absolutely crazy if you ask me.. To name a few of the things wrong with mw2: 1. Marathon, lighweight, commando 2. one man army 3. a ****ty community 4. tactical nukes 5. care packages 6. overpowered kill streaks: harrier/chopper gunner/predator missle 7. thermal scopes 8. capping the fire rate of pistols to deter macro'ing (LOLLLLLL) 9. the ACR/M16/Famas/M4 being horribly OP 10. Painkiller/final stand 11. The mass amount of cheating one had to put up with including: care package run, unlimited care package, modded lobbies, nuke boosting, players getting out of the map, etc... 12. shotguns as secondary weapons 13. a good chunk of the maps were horrible
The thing about cheating being common could hold true, or it could be false. cod4 had little to no cheating. there were some aggravating points, but if you were good enough you could easily still dominate. WaW similarly didn't have that much BS going on. MW2 is just in its own category of crap.
Things they have fixed for black ops: 1. no commando 2. marathon will be like extreme conditioning and not unlimited 3. no sleight of hand pro 4. no death streaks 5. no stopping power/juggernaut
I'm not saying Black Ops will be without its faults. You're right, WaW wasn't way too fun. I still played cod4 even after they released it. However, at this point anything remotely decent will be an upgrade over mw2.
Well there is a Battlefield 3 coming out. IIRC, people are supposed to be able to get into the beta (whenever it's announced) with a (pre?)purchase of MoH. With the way MoH looks though, I wouldn't recommend spending the money to get an early look at BF3.
MOH, is just fine to me, Im playing the ps3 version...though people are starting to camp and snipe already, that can be expected. This is not a run and gun game, if you do so, your K/D will suck. It takes teamwork, and actually taking your time to move from point to point. Only complaint is, its hard to tell who is who at times, the players seem wayyyyyyyy smaller. Was it worth the buy? Yes, since I didnt get Madden or NBA2K11 and BlackOPs and AC:Brotherhood are already paid for
That's what I noticed in the YouTube vids coming out. While it seems a lot of my 360 friends have bought it, I think I'm going to wait with Black Ops just a few weeks away and save the $60 bucks.
Here is some multiplayer gameplay from Black Ops and it looks really awesome.. From what I saw, the game is gonna still at least have hardline, sleight of hand, and marathon..
IW could have increased the time it takes to switch weapons with One Man Army...they said they did that, but it was definitely still not effective. They could have decreased the lunge distance for commando. They could have decreased the time for painkiller. Too many glitches...too many cheaters...too many boosters... Lots of issues with the game. The ultimate downfall of a FPS is when you die when its not your fault. MW2 had waaaay too many instances where I died because of pure BS. Im not saying its a total crap game, bc it was good enough where I still spent days playing it. But I'd be kidding myself if I said it wasnt one of the most frustrating games. Definitely had blood pressure issues when that game was on. Hamza pretty much nailed all the problems. Im pretty confident that most of these problems will either be reduced or eliminated in black ops. Treyarch may not have a great track record with the previous CoD games, but everything Ive seen and read about this game seems like its a step up from MW2. I have no problems with people playing it, not liking it, and getting rid of it...but to just come out with this predetermined mindset that Black Ops is going to suck...well, thats a bit much, specially considering the problems of MW2.
Well, what can you say. Gun-mounted grenade launchers are a logical choice. It just so happens people over-use them. That's not something that you can fix with good weapon balancing, etc. If there is an OP weapon even in the slightest, people will scramble to use it. It's human nature. Why settle for legit "pro MLG" weapons when you can give yourself an advantage using "noob" weapons. The only thing you can really do is adapt...
I like the concept of One Man Army. The simplest way to fix would have been to limit the number of times that it could be used in a life... personally I would have limited it to 1.
