I totally thought we'd leave Green out there to lead the second unit, and considering how hot he was, also to claim the new 3pt record. When I saw MCW checking in I began hoping he would be the one to get the record breaker. The dude needs something to feel good about career-wise at this point. He sure threw some signature MCW 3pt attempts up, didn't he? Shots so embarrassingly off that they'd make Sam Dekker blush. But my god - the dude actually did it. Man, if MCW would've missed that final look, and then we didn't actually end up setting a new record... oh ****. Considering the amount of attempts he got up, the forum would be calling for his execution. I'm really having a ton of fun watching this team again. Let's hope they stick around for a while.
That is what you get when the main shot takers make their 3s - JH, CP, EGo, Green, Tuck. The other dude just get to break the record.
I'll always remember this as the game in which we hit so many 3's that Michael Carter-Williams was encouraged to take the last one.
It's like MCW is deliberately trying to become the answer to the world's most difficult NBA trivia question. "This player won the NBA Rookie of the Year AND hit the 3 pt shot that set the NBA record for team 3pters in a game - yet he was one of the worst shooters in NBA history." Everyone would think it was Tyreke Evans!
Contestant: Who is...... Jason Kidd.(?) Trebek: No, no, it was mcw. You are now negative 2000 on that daily double.
This is like that one dude during pick up that you've left open the whole game hitting the game winning 2.
Sixers were tanking and gave rookie MCW the green light to shoot. And he had a below average true shooting percentage. They gave up on him very fast. ROY is probably the best he can win individually.
