T_Man is a proven D-Mo hater... for some reason or other he always downplays his contributions and is finding faults with him...

On the subject of JSmith, a broken clock is right twice a day. 21 points on 20 shots isn't brag worthy. Furthermore, 1-5 from the three point line. WHY SHOOT FIVE 3's WHEN YOU ARE SHOOTING 10%?! Oh I know why, because you are the only player on the team who makes those bad a$$ jumping turnovers.

Sorry had to get that out of my system. Carry on cfans.

I couldn't agree more, in fact the hilarious part of this is Tom Thibodeau got T'd up for doing what McHale should have done and at the time the Rockets only had 1 or 2 free throws for the entire game. Unbelievable. How in the world does he complain about the officiating in that game. In fact that was Harden's only free throw of the game until the final seconds of the 4th

T-Man, what kind of TV do you own because you watch an entirely different game than I do.

Welcome to today's ClutchFans. I find what you said funny because I have been thinking the same thing for a few weeks now.

We Win: Everybody loves Morey, Harden, Howard, McHale, and Josh Smith (create 3 new threads per player/coach)

We Lose: It's one of the above's fault (create 10 new threads per player/coach)

If the thread starting privileges of a certain 3 or 4 users were revoked, I don't think the majority would revolt. Just sayin..:)

This is classic McHale. We've been watching this 4 years already. We keep doing something expecting another result.

We need better game planning in the endgame so we can surprise the other team. Our stars need better discipline so they will recognize if they are not hot and go to the play that works.

Hopefully the assistants like J.B. can take more of a lead role in in-game coaching.

All teams lose games. And it's not always on the coach.

Sometimes the other teams just makes more shots. Sometimes the ball just bounces their direction. Sometimes the other team gets the calls from the refs.

It seemed like everything went against us last night and we were still in the game until the final seconds. Our defense didn't look great, but the season is a work in progress and I'm sure it will be addressed.

There was actually some positive signs last night. DMo continues to impress, and Josh Smith seems to be finding his role a little better.

In the end, two good teams played, and the home team won after a lot of favorable calls from the refs.

Here is a quote from Elton Brand during a recent interview. He wasn't talking specifically about the Rockets but it fits.

“Not to dump on any specific team, but when you play against a superstar, you know exactly where the ball is going,” Brand said. “Certain guys are going to get the ball at certain times at certain spots. They're running their sets.”

In the Rockets case our "sets" are give the ball to Harden. They are way too predicable at the end of games. It doesn't work against the more talented teams that play good team defense.

McHale : "NO SWITCHING! NO SWITCHING!"

Parsons with his agenda to be the hero decides to suddenly switch onto Bev's man

This is where you miss having multiple legit offensive weapons. If you aren't gonna go to DMo in the post and you ultimately take him out of the game, who else do you go to down the stretch? You watch the Warriors, and you know they want to get the ball to Steph, in a perfect world. But if they can't, Klay can burn you. Or Draymond can burn you. Or Lee can burn you. Or Speights can burn you. Or Harrison Barnes can burn you. Take DMo out of the equation, and who else do you REALLY have to respect as a scoring threat, other than Harden? Looking at the lineup that was out there last night at the end, mayyyyybe you have to watch Bev from 3 -- but he's not getting a clean look unless Harden sets him up, so again -- just shut down Harden.

I personally wouldn't have minded one or both of Jet or Brewer out there down the stretch last night. It's not like we were rebounding or getting stops at the other end anyway. Surely we could come up with a few set plays for late-game situations that presume Harden will be smothered.

Dmo had his chance but did nothing. His next step is to get better at dealing with players who are physical with him.

Nothing? He was 8 of 14 for 16 points. There was a stretch last night when he scored 3 or 4 times in a row against Noah. Compared to previous years he is much better against physical defenders.

It makes no sense at all to not go to him more in the post.

How so? I thought he was great against Noah all night. The only two shots he attempted down the stretch were 3-pointers. I guess he's hesitant to demand the ball down low when he shares the floor with Dwight, but that would have been the next best option after they effectively took Harden out of the game.

Dmo is a legit 250lb + and the refs always call the game like he's the big giant bully in every game. Him and Dwight share sympathies in the locker room and probably cry each other asleep on the plane....

It is on the coach (except if he obeys orders from management)... down the stretch in gamethread at last a dozen of posters screamed feed DMO in the post....

what kind of coach doesnt see and doesnt know what almost every single fan on the board knows?

not true.... dmo has already proven very effective in clutch situations in a couple of games and referees were not treating him unjustly in those situations... on contrary, they were giving him FTs

Dmo is coming along nicely, but he still has a long ways to go.... Where he has better fundamentals than Howard on the low post, Howard is better on defense and can make up mistakes with his athleticism.

I am a pure Rockets fan and I see the game as it is and not for one player like a lot of you.

When you have 2 equal teams then the advantage will come down to how the coaches will improvise during the game.

    1) McHale know the other team... Put DMo on Gasol and Howard on Noah...

    2) Tell Harden to stop glaring in space and play defense.... Butler lost Harden several times because Harden was just back to his bird watching defense.

    3) Help DMo to understand on where he needs to be on Defense... The Rockets play a team defense and when one player goes out of rotation that causes problems....

Last night Thibodeau - constantly made adjustments... McHale did make some adjustments but when you have equal teams it comes down to a chess match and last night Mchale was playing checkers...

Mchale has too much talent on that team and has to learn to roll with the hot man and not worry about certain players getting their minutes..
