We need a coach change, that is all.

If Messi is having a some bad games does Barca trade him? NO! Do you understand how difficult it is to get players of Harden and Howard's caliber? getting rid of a player like that is absolutely the last resort, what you need to do is figure out what motivates/drives them and use that! McHale seems to have lost that, we know he is no tactician, but he used to be a good motivator he is obviously not even that anymore, he has lost this team, he needs to go.

I was thinking like a week ago what effect benching Harden would have. It probably mean the end of Harden in Houston. So even if everyone wanted to teach Harden a lesson it would be a costly one. Just like now, any of coaches or teammates aren't saying **** to him, instead they transform that disappointment in Harden by showing zero engagement on the court.
I usually just spectate DMo when he's on the court, today I watched Harden every second he was on the floor. Don't know if he always plays like today, but if he does - worst defender in NBA history. And a cancer on offense.

You can't win in the NBA without talent. What do you do when your single most talented player is the problem? Is the problem Harden or the system? If Harden is the problem, changing the coach won't fix it. Is this part of why OKC gave him away? Good luck with this whole mess, Morey.

More hoping that McHale would change his life and choose another career.

Change the line up change your tone... Change your milk hair.

What you should really change is your coach!

The only way you can bench your superstar is if you have Popovich, Phil Jackson or Rick Carlisle as a head coach. Every other coach will get trampled on and once your superstar stops playing for you, your job is gone.

Pop will send a message that will be heard through the team. McHale will bench Harden and the only message that will be heard is that Harden is unhappy and wants a new coach.

    No. This will not happen.

McHale can make lineup changes all he wants, doesn't change the fact that this team has quit listening to him, couldn't be more evident if you watch these guys body language on the court. They are basically just out there to collect a paycheck.

Harden needs someone who could get through to him. Maybe a call from coach K or his college coach will do it. Mchale clearly aint the guy.

Change of coaching is fine, but that won't turn the fortune of the team.

Fortune of the team will turn when their 2 best players play like top 5-7 players.

its one of the more lopsided trades in nba history, so im sure okc would have loved to keep him, they havent been back to the finals without him

I think the idea is that a coaching change will help them do that.

Well that should tell you more about the players moreso than the coach.

Just a little perspective ... this was posted on 11/25/14:
    http://www.sbnation.com/nba/2014/11/25/7276933/lebron-james-decline-cavaliers-losing

Last year the heavy EC favorite Cavs started 5-7, then 19-20, before getting on a roll in mid-JAN that carried them to the Finals

    Among their early problems:
    - incessant calls for a seemingly tuned-out Head Coach not getting enough effort or cohesion from a talented roster
    - a superstar looking 'lost' and, even worse, possibly disinterested while the team he is supposed to lead crumbles around him
    - a star big man frustrated by his reduced role while adjusting to playing with 2 ball-dominant perimeter players who often ignore/forget him on the court
    - inconsistent lineups due to injuries and poor play

    Any of this sound familiar???

Much like our own Rockets, last year's Cavs got a major boost w 2 critical additions mid-season in JR & Shump
Unlike last year, I don't feel like a trade or 2 could jumpstart this squad

The main problem with this team is Harden's regression back to his 2013-14 form
Last summer he spent the summer w Coach K on Team USA and came back a new, MVP caliber man on a mission from Day 1
    This summer he got Kardasianed

Apparently, McHale is incapable of coaxing out of him whatever Coach K unlocked last year
To me, replacing 'Players Coach' McHale with a Def strategist who will command and demand accountability from EVERYONE has been long overdue

I imagine Les is coming around to this conclusion any moment now

I think people really underestimate how bad McHale has been.

They play pick up streetball every night. There is no structure, there is not system, there is no plan.

This is looking more and more like a coach thing, you can clearly see effort is lacking out there. A team like this shouldn't be losing by 15-20 points on a consistent basis. Even the really bad teams dont lose like the way Rockets are.

I am not enjoying watching this Rockets team, cause their effort is sooo poor, I use to be excited to come home from work and watch the rockets games, but right now I come home and I am like, well which rockets are playing today.

Even when we had teams battling to be .500 before the Harden era, those teams fought hard every night.

This team is a complete mess. Bad coach, low ball iq players, no def and off rebounding, poor transition defense, poor low post defense, poor perimeter defense, poor offensive perimeter "wide open" shooting, poor bunnies misses, too much in love 3pt shooting with no true shooters, etc.....

Ask the Cavs. Ask OKC. But their best players are beasts.

Blaming the coach is basically a cop out.
