Its not on Kevin McHale. This team on paper doesn't look like it'll be able to make the playoffs; so why should we put our expectations so high?
Like Morey said in an interview afterward, if we're really trying to make the playoffs next year its more on him to improve the roster.

Well, it the GM and HC's job to set some goals. What would you have them say? We are just playing for a high draft pick? Still, if no changes are made regarding the center and s/f position (Bud is not a starter in this league), this team will finish where it has been the last 2 years. It is no accident that we finish 14th in the league two years in a row. We are the best of the worst or the worst of the best.
It's honorable and all for him to try to take the bullet, but this season is all on Daryl Morey. He's the one that canned the HOF coach; he's the one who is going to swap out half the roster; he's the one responsible for finding the franchise player. And, right now McHale only has the roster that Adelman failed to take to the playoffs. He's going to outcoach Adelman?
