it was fun joking about it but now that it has happened, i feel bad. it's obvious that these players have been rogue for some time now, since a hairy individual came along. now these players have to look in the mirror.
He would fix the offense but what about our defense? It would still be terrible. Unless we signed Thibs as an assistant.
I mentioned before in the Fire McHale thread that there has to be some sort of breaking point where the data shows the Rockets in high probability of losing the season and not making the playoffs. I was floored this morning when I heard Tom Haberstroh on the radio say that teams with the point diff. and record, and the strength of schedule coming up that the Rockets have... will have a GREATER than 80% chance of missing the playoffs. I was looking for a breaking point that the data shows a major change is needed due to the season being a bust, and here it is. Tom Haberstroh does his homework, and it should be no shock that Morey knows when its time to make a change. I thought towards the new year would be sort of the data point to look at, but this shows it can be much much sooner and point differential was something that obviously is playing a huge part. This wasn't Harden & Howard driving this change obviously. This was about Sheer Data! The DATA fired McHale.
Bickerstaff looks like a angry type of guy and demands respect. How was his dads offense? I don't remember his offense with Seattle or Denver.
Why fire him if you don't have the new coach already hired? To me, an assistant that couldn't get the team going from the same staff isn't the answer. You need a new voice, Tom Tibodeaux would be my choice.
Sorry to see McHale go because of all the personal stuff and he seemed like a good guy and all....but basketball wise this is what the team needed if they wanted to compete for a championship.
players arent robots and the coach cant use mind control to make them smarter on the court. Sad to see him go but coach is always #1 scapegoat
