Pretty sure this doesn't belong in the GARM.

The funny part is that it doesn't really improve the Mavs that much.
Chandler already provides a similar role - albeit no longer as good as Deandre but similar.

Such a move doesn't make Dirk all of a sudden be able to guard anything.

Dirk is a sieve. It's sad to watch. Unless that gets better with rest the recipe to defeat the Mavs will be obvious. Open shots by attacking Dirk.

O i agree dirk has lost a lot but that is why when he said he is ok coming of the bench I got excited.....especially if somehow they get aldridge to fill the PF but mavs have swung and missed the last 3 seasons hahaha so no reason to believe this will be different

At least your GM values chemistry, so there is always that to fall back on.

    Then you have no backcourt.
LMA plus Deandre plus Dirk off the bench is nice but who is your backcourt?
Not that you should keep Monta but still...

The Clippers have Deandre, Blake - arguably Better than LMA and definitely better than Dirk now, and CP3 ... And may lose in the first round.

    It's a competitive West.

Mavs would be better off targeting Jimmy Butler I think.

Jimmy Butler would only sign if they relocated to Tomball.

Dallas signing Deandre Jordan? Sounds like a completely lateral move to me, although Jordan is younger than Chandler.

Personally, I think the Mavs are done as contenders for awhile. Dirk is done being an elite player. He will still be able to score, but he just can't even play close to competent defense anymore. Monta Ellis has proven (surprisingly) to be a decent to good player in Dallas but is not a superstar and can't carry a team by himself. Chandler Parsons is exactly who we thought he was- a good role player but not a superstar and not worth 46 million dollars. We will have to see what happens with his knee injury.

IMO- it is time for them to start preparing to rebuild. Although Dallas fans probably think it is blasphemous, trade Dirk to a contending team for draft picks similar to the way that Boston did with Garnett, Paul Pierce and even Rondo (haha...the irony). Acquire draft picks and young assets and begin the process of rebuilding. They aren't going to compete for a championship anymore with Dirk as their main player and they don't have anyone else on the roster to build that around either.

But who am I kidding? It's Mark Cuban we are talking about! I'm sure he will try to sign LMA, Goran Dragic, Jimmy Butler and/or Draymond Green, and then they will all sign somewhere else.
