I stand corrected. Thanks. The following year we were 6th and we won it all and I know the Knicks was 8th one year and got very far.
Thanks for checking it out. I agree with the intro, I think I was just hungry. I also agree with you that swapping players is a bad test, but since they are all point guards, swapping also showcases versatility. Removing them from their team could just be a test of which team is constructed more poorly. Two years ago, GSW without Curry would have been way better than us without Harden, but that doesnt make Harden way more valuable than Curry. The Thunder could be a bottom 3 team without Westbrook and Gordon keeps us .500 (I know) without Harden. You are right though, judging a player's value based on swapping their situation is at best inaccurate and at worse misleading. Hopefully the wins will play a large role.
Since 1990 (when the draft lottery was introduced), only 5 times has the "worst team" received the top pick. So "tanking" rarely works. http://basketball.realgm.com/nba/draft/lottery_winners
Idgaf what Mavs fans think normally, wth how trash they are this year... They don't even have a right to comment on our franchise
Ungratefu shi**.....Help is coming. Not necessarily big names but we're moving in that direction. WELL, BIG NAMES ARE THERE TOO...BUT PREPARE TO LOSE SOME OF YOUR HEART. Ne said himself he needs breathers. FREE THE BIRDS WHO WANT OUT!
Well to be honest the Mavs fan is right, right now the Rox aren't contenders. I hope the rest of CF community is grounded in reality and don't lose their **** when we lose a 7 game series to SaS, GSW or Cavs. I mean lets be realistic the Rox are the only team in the "contenders" slot which has 1 all star. The talent gap is too big right now. The good news is this is actually a massive improvement over the other teams the Rox have had since Hakeem, now basically the only point in time where we can say we're just 1 superstar away from contention.
Now tell me how many times: 1. Rookie of the year was not #1 pick 2. How many times worst pick was #2 And your argument fails
I thoroughly enjoyed your article...and I agree with nearly everything you said. Good job. This team is DANGEROUS, especially with Patrick Beverley healthy. Ironically, I think we are a small bit like the Mavs of 2011. Their roster was built around one superstar, depth, deadly shooters, interior rim protection, and a combination of great coaching and great chemistry among their players. They were not expected to sweep the Lakers...they were counted out against OKC...and then they were underdogs to the "superteam" in Miami. And look where they ended up.
