The Russo Brothers Hint They Want to Direct Marvel's Fantastic Four

Avengers: Endgame not only marked the end of Tony Stark and Steve Rogers' Marvel Cinematic Universe stories but also the conclusion of a narrative co-directors Joe and Anthony Russo began in 2014's Captain America: The Winter Soldier. After directing the second and third installments of the Captain America franchise, the brothers then helmed Avengers: Infinity War and Endgame before finally taking a well-earned break from the MCU.

However, the directing duo might not stop there. While appearing at the Toronto International Film Festival, the Russos were asked which characters could bring them back to the Marvel fold.

FANTASTIC FOUR: "Reed Richards" Trends After Rumor About John Krasinski Meeting With Marvel Studios
    [IMG]
After the news broke that hunky Jack Ryan star John Krasinski has had a virtual meeting with Marvel Studios, fans on social media made it known to Marvel Studios who they want the actor/filmmaker to play!

Rumours started swirling yesterday evening that John Krasinski has had a virtual meeting with Marvel Studios head honcho Kevin Feige...probably via Zoom given what's happening in the world!

Given that he's a firm fan favorite to take on the role of Mister Fantastic in the Marvel Cinematic Universe's reboot of the Fantastic Four series of films, it took no time at all for "Reed Richards" to start trending on Twitter as fans made it known to Marvel Studios who they want the actor and filmmaker to play in the ever expanded shared universe.

Why is this a big deal?

It takes a lot for anything to trend online - particularly with a global pandemic dominating headlines across the planet - so the simple mention of Krasinki's name in the same sentence as the MCU generating this sort of response is not something Marvel Studios is going to be able to overlook.

The Office alum and current Jack Ryan star (not to mention A Quiet Place director) has made his interest in Fantastic Four known countless times in recent months. With this supposed meeting between him and Feige generating a response like this, there's a hope we could be that little bit closer to seeing Krasinski play the smartest superhero in the entire MCU.

Reed Richards is fairly young in the early comics, and tall. Marvel has done a great job casting to match the look of the characters in the comics and Tom Cruise is old and tiny.

marvel has done great for the most part with casting, despite a few affirmative action castings like heimdall and fury (but they turned out badass anyway). that said, i still would like to see tom cruise in a major marvel role.

I agree on the reverse-whitewashing they do but it has turned out well. Definitely think Tom Cruise would do well in the MCU, maybe as a big bad or even the Silver Surfer, since he will be all CGI anyway.

The only character of his I loved was in Collateral. And he looked a bit like OG Nick Fury in that. He's not at all a bad actor, but I'm not sure I've ever seen him take a supporting role unless you count the 15min he did on the set of Tropic of Thunder to try and save his career post-Oprah interview.

FF4 can rival Avengers if done right.

    My dream cast- younger, older.

Reed Richards- Miles Teller, John Hamm.
    Invisible Woman-Saoirse Ronan, Elizabeth Debicki
    Human Torch-Ezra Miller
    Thing-?

I don't blame any of that on the actors the script and plot sucked.

    Yes it was definitely him.

Script sucked. Michael B. Jordan and Kate Mara were in it too.

Regardless, I can't remember watching any movie with Miles Teller and being happy about it.
