who would you prefer on this team? i'd take Martin over the others simply because he moves better without the ball. but of course there are downsides to him like unwillingness to pass the ball, chucking, and bad defense.

JR is probably the best defender out of the 3 but a serious chucker and a headcase or else he'd be ideal.

please don't say Harden because he's just greater than all 3 combined.

Martin is far superior to Ellis, who is far superior to JR.

    JR as in JR Smith?

Kevin Martin is probably the best defender on that list. It's between him and Monta.

I take Monta. And then trade him for draft picks.

Martin's an extremely efficient scorer while Monta and JR are chuckers. All 3 suck at defense so its a wash there. On the Rockets, Martin is a much better fit since he moves well without the ball. He's also not covered in ugly-ass tattoos like those other 2.

    Martin by a mile.

I'm sorry but in what universe is JR Smith considered a good defender?

    This man here nailed it

Jr and Monta are chucker tier

Martin is in the efficient tier and doesn't dominate the ball in order to score

Yep, Kmart has the odd ability to score 20+ and barely dribble the ball.

I would pay to not have JR on my team. What a waste of athleticism and potential.

Knicks fans think both he and Felton are better defenders than Lin, but I don't see it.

Why are Ellis' rankings and stats missing? Doesn't prove your point?

Glanced at Martin and Ellis' stats. Checked out 82 games. Yeah, still Ellis by a mile. Any other vote is looking pretty recarded.

Martin unwillingness to pass the ball, chuckling and bad defense? Kmart isn't a ball stopper like JR Smith who really takes bad shots like a long 3 pointer with like 18 secs on the shot clock. Kmart actually plays within the motion offense and move well without the ball.

People tend to overlook Kmart on defense and label him as a horrible defender but actually, he's a decent defender. He's not a great defensive player but he's a decent one. He actually tries to play team defense which is fine because he's not strongest or most athletic so its harder for him to stay in front of some of the physically gifted guards in the NBA.

JR on the other hand is physically gifted in every single way but he tends to wander off on defense or cheats on defense. Monta Ellis is a little better than JR Smith but not that great either. Ellis is just an explosive scorer just like Smith, who has all the potential in the world to be a great offensive player in this league but never really live up to that. They both aren't mature and still play like everyone owes them something. Maybe Monta is a little better than that.

Kmart is a scorer like those two but he is much more mature, and more importantly, much more efficient on the offensive end. Kmart works harder than those two and Kmart plays within the system and knows what his role is and stick to it. Last year, Kmart kind of wander off because that trade that involved him but was block by Stern really got to his head. Its not biggie and its behind, this year, his head is on straight and he will be back to his old efficient scoring days.
