Welcome back my friends to the show that never ends We're so glad you could attend Come inside, come inside
I am so glad you're here to keep us monkeys in line and help train us all to be smrt..I mean smart, just like you.
I’m not trying to train anyone bro. Maybe he’s not a douchebag. Everyone seems to love him. I said “I don’t get it” meaning the problem might well be with me not everyone else, even tangentially related to the organization, that doesn’t work in the nerd cave. But yeah- we are pattern matchers and hard wired to make sense of things and see narrative where chance (or some other explanation) might be better. I didn’t even get into his shitty ****ing Mohawk (I dabbled in that for a summer while I was exploring my douchiest-ness. It didn’t stick, I decided instead to be condescending and an *******, but my experience is guys that do that are damn near 1/1 in the douche ratio. all that said I know what I observe publicly and everything I said is accurate and I also k is what I have heard and that he is universally loved apparently by everyone associated with the Astros pitching staff so like I said, I don’t get it.
Not everyone loves him. I can't stand him since he went on social media crying and threatening to leave because the Astros were trying to upgrade the position.
I mean- yeah, but I assume you aren't a member of the Astros pitching staff. Diaz got mean girled by Dusty and Maldy this year. I strongly suspect there is absolutely nothing wrong with him and we will see that next year.
You would have thought the pitching staff would be ticked off that their catcher couldn't routinely block breaking balls in the dirt even in his prime.
Maldy would be a huge downgrade from Garver so I'm all for that. Brantley too because he'll get hurt and only actually play for less than a month.
A lot of this criticism is from the outside looking in. None of us here were in the clubhouse day in and day out and the people who were there are singing high praises for Maldy. He would frustrate me a lot but from what the other players are saying he was a valuable part of the team.
Appreciate what he did and wish him well. I believe he and Dusty stayed one year too long, but hard to make drastic changes coming off a World Series championship. Granted... we did change GM during that offseason.
Thank you Maldy....you definitely can work the plate to the batters weaknesses which helped the pitchers. I just wish you could bat over .220 consistently. Good luck with the White Sox
Thanks for stepping up and getting your fat ass hit on 11/5/2022, huge play on your part MM, so well done.
My Son and his buddy are going to his Catchers Camp this month here in Houston. He does these quite a bit, even when he wasn't a part of the Astros prior to 2018. He's got a lot of connections with some of the Ex Players that are Puerto Rican here in Houston who run some of the Select Baseball programs.
