I wish him the best. Hope he is healthy and becomes the NFL's best defensive end for the next 5 years. I wanted him over Bush and Young from the get-go, loved his skills, liked his personality. Sucks we couldn't keep him but there's really not much we could have done to pay him.

Congrats on the deal Mario. Texans had no choice to let him go at that type of money.

I really don't understand what the Texans are doing. I thought all these cuts would lead to a Mario deal.

    Winston
    Jones
    Leinart
and now Mario with Meyers likely to be gone next.

Just sign Peyton and end our misery.

    Bound to happen.

Just re-sign Breisel and Myers first please.

Hope he enjoys living in Buffalo...the armpit of the USA. Maybe he can be "Bruce Smith II"

Jones has not been cut. Secondly, the cuts that WERE made were simply to get us under the salary cap. How on Earth do you think we would have been able to afford paying Mario $100 million?? We can, however, probably re-sign Myers and possibly Briesel. This is not the Texans fault. This is Mario wanting to get paid, and I can't blame him one bit.

whose fault is every other team in the league adding free agents and trying to improve their team besides the texans?

Jones wasn't released and those cuts were made just to get under the league's cap. If they want to sign anyone, they'll have to make additional moves to free up additional money.

This feels win-win. He broke the bank, good for him, and by signing with Buffalo, proves it was strictly money, which excuses the Texans, who would have been fools to chase him with top dollar.

I think I heard it mentioned on PTI yesterday maybe, and it made me feel a little better. All the teams we're hearing about going after the big name free agents, they're not gonna be all that relevant come September and especially November and December. The perennial contenders aren't making a lot of noise..and shoot even the Texans acquisitions last year slipped under the radar when we didn't sign the BIG FA prize. The good teams, the great teams, they find ways to fill the holes left by the players that leave or get cut. So this is almost the next step in this franchise. Longevity.

So should this be in the Texans board now?

Technically he was a free agent, not a Texan. Now he is on the Bills, not even a chance of becoming a Texan again.

Every other team in the league didn't have an off-season like the Texans did last year. Also, every other team isn't set up at the majority of positions like the Texans are. If you're going to compare teams, let's compare all 32 NFL teams roster by roster, and tell me where the Texans stack up. I'm guessing it's going to be near the top.
