    We've gone over that before. They can just drop it off some place, and call in to let Al JAzeera know where to find it. They can put it up on the internet, etc. They can mail it in. After all someone mailed anthrax all over the capital and we never found out where that came from.

    The insurgency is a hodgepodge of different groups fighting for different reasons and using different tactics. This is what makes it so hard to fight them.

    IMO its dangerous to consider the whole insurgency as one monolithic group of bloodthirsty rabid SOB's. The Margaret Hassan killing could prove to be a psychological wedge to drive apart the insurgency.

    Following on the other thread though any psych advantage we could gain might be lost due to what's going on in Fallujah.

    This barbaric act is akin to killing Mother Teressa, it is a crime against humanity. There is NO justification for killing innocent civilians, especially those who have dedicated their lives to helping the Iraqi people. It should be abundantly clear that her murderers do not have the interest of the Iraqi people in mind. It is time to end insurgency and rebuild Iraq. Drive out the foriegn terrorists and rebuild the nation. This is happening in the north and the south, the Sunnis should realize what is in their best interest.

    I don't anyone should get upset about American's doing what it takes, including torture, to get information from captured terrorist and find the people who commit these types of crimes. They need to be stoped.

    Yes let's sunk down to their level. It's not like they're not saying:

    I don't anyone should get upset about insurgents's doing what it takes, including kidnapping and killing an innocent civlians that have helped us, to drive out the occupiers and free this country. They need to be stoped.

    Honestly, I agree, the government's prime interest is its own citizen's welfare. So if they feel a pre-emptive strike will bring safety to this country then go ahead and do it and do it right. Don't go in pretending to be peace makers and justice of freedom. Just get the job done and stop acting like hypocrites, or else we should be in plenty of African countries, (and not just the ones with oil and diamond like the AIDs aid situation).

    They do need to be stopped. But it is foolish to think that torture will help stop them. Torture didnt' work for the French in Algeria, Japan in WW2, etc.

    In addition, by saying it is ok for us to torture, you making it ok for others to torture our soldiers who are captured. You mention stopping these types of crimes. Many of the types of crimes you want to stop are torture related.

    Furthermore, we are trying to spread the idea that Democracy is good, and that the U.S. is fair, and a friend to the people we are supposed to help. Torture does not help that.

    Furthermore we lower ourselves to the level of the terrorists when we torture.

    The U.S. has always maintained that it believed in certain principles and human rights. Allowing terrorists to make you sell those principles out, is losing the war on terrorism. Holding to our principles despite terrorism is winning.

    I understand being angry and wanting to hurt anyone connected with this. Torture is not the way.

    Mr. Meowgi;

    If I'm not mistaken that is a pic of a Buddhist monk setting himself on fire to protest the Vietnam war.

    I'm trying to figure out what you're saying by posting that pic?
