I like the move. How much is the minimum in this case?

He will provide what Terry did last year, except on a minimum deal and while being 10 years younger. Solid signing, I expect him to be apart of our rotation. If we don't trade for another point, he could be our backup point next season.

Wow. I didn't see this move coming. I can't recall hearing Thornton's name mentioned once around here. Was he even in Basketballholic's sig?

More like a set up move, this move means Nick Johnson is getting traded soon, which means a move for a point guard is coming. Looking like Lawson or Rubio

It doesn't solve our primary need of playmaking. I'm not impressed with this signing at all.

well Nick Johnson's value is only the contract he has to match salaries at this point so I'm not so sure he will be necessarilly included.

    Low risk, High reward

I'd like to see small ball units of Bev, Thornton, Harden, Ariza and Howard

And we got him for the minimum. How is this not a great deal?

If the Rockets can find a quality PG that can run an offense, they've effectively fixed the fundamental flaws of this team. The next step would be upgrading, ie signing/trading for a 3rd star.

How about a primary need of MAKING WIDE OPEN SHOTS

Some of you aren't looking at this the right way

I feel like roster spots will be wide open when we tried 3-4 dudes

here's news TOM BRADY. If you want your players to hit their wide open shots you must go find a playmaker. Do you understand? Now go read the grantland article to educate yourself.

And ppl are wondering " why when players join the rockets their 3% drop"?? Its not rocket science.

For a backup 2 guard, that is absolutely fine. You don't need someone "locked" into that spot. Guards that provide scoring off the bench are relatively easy to find year to year.
