How highly does CHI value Mirotic? I remember that he was a pretty strong prospect but was locked in over there for a good bit (IIRC).

Robinson+Royce White+#34+1 Million dollars for Mirotic.

The Bulls can use #34 to replace Mirotic as a prospect. They get an influx of potential talent and we take a million off of their bill on Robinson this year.

All the more reason to retain and develop him.

i 'get' where spears is coming from... but his comments are a little premature.

if mchale can't get through to him (or royce white) in the next year or two it will be a huge disappointment for this franchise - and maybe spears will have been justified.

until then, i still think trob has great potential to develop. hope the staff can bring that out of him this offseason/next season.

    (assuming he is not traded)

Perhaps, but he doesn't talk to every team's people in the know about these things. And these people are certainly not going to tell him "we are psyched about this and will do whatever it takes to get him."

So for you to feel there's something to this report, you must assume that

A)Spears has access to all teams with the ability to absorb Robinson's salary either with TPE or cap space

    B)They are truthful with him.

Larry Sanders looked like a bust after his first two years. Now Bucks are luckily the have the first chance to extend him.

We have no idea how Morey will clear cap space, but you can take it to the bank that he has more than one plan on how to do it. Maybe the deal will involve T-Rob, maybe it won't, but I'd be shocked of Morey gets bent over. Just because teams know we need to clear cap doesn't mean that they can force a bad deal on us.

Not even close. He was just named ACB League MVP. Everything I've read has says that he is Chicago's prized prospect. He dropped in the draft because people thought he would be another Fran Vasquez, who won't come over.

I'm pretty sure someone will trade for Thomas Robinson. It might not be what Morey wants, but he will be able to trade him.

I think he's exaggerating here. Yes, he hasn't played well. But he's also very young and only played for a year. Lots of guys - especially bigs - take awhile to develop. And yes, while he has been traded twice, the Kings traded him looking for veterans (and are a mess) and were doing this for cap space. Does it hurt his value? Yes. Will we get a lot back? No. But is he completely worthless? No.

How did T-Rob go from safest pick in the draft to nobody wants him in less than one year?

Btw If you are Okc what would you rather have a late first or T-Rob?

Morey got rid of Dalembert for a pick, so I'm pretty sure Morey can most definately trade T-Rob somewhere else.

What happened to Thomas Robinson? He was so good in college, what made his value so low?

He is raw, most teams are in a win ASAP mode, the ones that can or are willing to take on Robinson's contract for extended period just don't have the time or talent to develop him.

Probably the best fits for Robinson would be the Spurs or Bulls, since they have the coach and organization where he could actually develop relatively painlessly. The problem is they probably don't need him so... the announcement of Robinson being on the market was probably premature.

According to a poll, almost 50% of Clutchfans think it's likely that another team will offer a top 15 pick for TRob. Someone doesn't know what they are talking about.

Maybe not top 15, but top 20 is reasonable.

This post sucks. You ignore the fact that we want to trade him for cap space and one or two draft picks. This means we cant trade him to 70% of the NBA that is over the cap. Then you dont factor in how many teams dont want to help form another power house. There are only 10 teams under the cap, and only 2 of them may be willing to make this trade with the rockets: Charlotte and orlando. Im not sure orlando wants to be involved in anything dwight howard related right now. Both teams have a problem with their first rounders being too high (along with most teams under the cap-props to morey)

    Atlanta wants him
Cleveland's dan gilbert hates other teams forming contenders and they might think they have a shot at him.
    The pistons have bigs.
That leaves a division rival and a few of wc teams which im sure do not want the rockets to elevate to a level above them with playoff seeds so limited.

Why, when if a GM has any experience with Morey, they will know that when he is desperate to move someone, he does it for peanuts like any other GM. Morris was a top 20 pick from the year before last and Morey dumped him off for a second rounder. Anyone paying attention to the roster knows the Rockets are loaded at the Power forward position and our coaches don't even seem to want to play/develop them, so even if we don't get Howard, we are likely to shed a young prospect for a pennies because Morey wants cap flexibility and the coaches don't seem to want a young guy as raw as Robinson after just getting Smith to respectability and the potential to land Howard or another named veteran big man.
