{Mannix} Rockets interested in Ty Lawson despite DUI

Mannix is a reliable source. And he did say after the second DUI. Don't know what the other teams can give the Nuggets.

 

Ty Lawson was the best player on a 57 win Denver team and quarterbacked a top 5 offense.

 

Are you purposely missing the part where I keep saying he is the best available (read: OBTAINABLE) option?

 

But this means also : a) no chance of waiving him and getting him for free b) the price won't be absolute garbage (Nick Jonhson, Pap, Prigs) but will have to include an incentive c) the Nugets may tempt their fate once again, because they are always very very patient and if they see that even at his lowest he has interest...who knows they may wait.

I see your logic here, but their time for patience is really over. They know they can't keep him any longer. If they don't trade him now for the best package available, then they aren't patient, they are stupid. They already have their new PG of the future doing well in summer league.

 

One would likely have to go to make the salary work. Which pisses me off even more about Smith.

If we are trying to trade for an upgrade at point like Lawson, using one of our PF's like Jones(or Motie), why in the hell is Smith bouncing to take less money for a "more refined role" when we can offer him a even bigger role then being stuck behind 2 all star bigs...

Trading for Lawson using Jones, re-signing Smith for 2.5 mill and still having our full MLE would of been such a perfect off season that I probably would of forgot about Aldridge signing with the damn Spurs, but no.

Even if we do get Lawson, we still going to have a whole at the backup PF spot, while their still are decent options like Boozer, Arthur or Hayes left on the market, Smith would of been so perfect with his defense and athleticism... eh whatever it's over now.

exactly this. Lawson averaged almost 10 ast per game, he will make Harden's job alot easier, Harden can focusin on score. Plus our TOs rate will drop

yes normally. But I'm not going to dismiss this possibillity because of the character and history of the Denver FO. They are patient like a donkey.

Nick Young + Larry Nance jr? Is that enough salary?
