I'm only basically informed of the situation over there. And I don't want to get into D&D area. But Putin shouldn't be allowed to wash his hands of this, right?
My wife's friend and her family were supposed to be on this flight from Amsterdam. Missed the flight.
If this is genuine it does confirm suspicions, ie wouldn't expect professional soldiers to make this kind of mistake. It's a damn big ass commercial airliner.

You can't hide an aircraft carrier. Sadly this is not that surprising, given that Russia has provided sophisticated SAM equipment to groups that are not highly trained. Easy to see how this could have been just a tragic mistake.
Sounds like Iran 655. Malaysia air should take a lot of blame for this. Why route a flight through a war zone?
