This is a horrible tragedy and a blow to humanity with the deaths of so many AIDS researchers. While I agree that most of the evidence points to pro-Russian rebels. I think we, and I mean the World not just Clutchfans, need to be very careful about jumping to conclusions. I don't want to sound like I'm defending Putin or the Pro-Russian rebels but the implications of this incident could have very profound consequences and it would help to have much greater certainty before assigning blame.

That video is chilling. Just awful. (I know it's unconfirmed mh17...but still a plane going down). I'm still in total disbelief this has happened.
So no Americans on board so far. Guess the UN and the Dutch need to lead he charge to make sure tensions aren't effected between us ad the Russians
1. If it was video from way back, why was it not seen before? 2. If it isn't the plane in question, which one is it? 3. Why hasn't anyone come forward to say "that's not Malaysia MH17, that's [the real one]" ?? 4. This is the right time to debunk it. Go for it.
It's so blurry that I think the idea of naysayers is this: a graphics wiz could have put that together from scratch. It could just be CG.
The State Department won't release anything until all the families are notified first if there was anyone on the plane.
well, can we confirm if the weather was clear that time of day on July 18th. We could also try to identify the tree, and see if that would eliminate the location, too. Certainly someone on reddit has confirmed the weather or not.
They have and so far one American on board. This ball is in Europe's court now. They have been reluctant to take sides and against some of our sanctions. This ought to change minds
I'm going to go ahead and jump to the conclusion that the plane was shot down by separatists who mistook it for a military plane. And now... so what? 1. Militaries make mistakes in war and kill innocent people. How many innocent civilians have we accidentally killed in Iraq, Afghanistan, even places like Yemen, while we were trying to get 'terrorists'? 2. We try to minimize the loss of innocent life, I'm told, and it's probably true to an extent. These separtists likely don't have nearly the training, the logistical support systems, and all the safety controls that a professional outfit like the US military has. They're incompetent, essentially. They shouldn't be fighting. But, that was the case anyway. Whichever side of the Ukrainian civil war you sympathize with, they should resolve their differences with something other than killing people. Accidentally killing 300 foreigners doesn't add too greatly to their already great culpability. 3. Same with Russia, for supporting them. Russia shares some of the blame here, but their hands have already long been dirty, in Ukraine and everywhere else. Even though Bush once looked into Putin's soul, I see him as one of our country's greatest enemies. This just adds one more item on a long, long ledger of why I don't like Putin. 4. From a practical standpoint, this event might help get Europe to join us more forefully in opposing Russia. But, I'm not sure that's even good thing. They may be enemies, but they're dangerous and the last thing we need is escalation of conflict with them. This mistake probably makes a negotiated peace harder to obtain.
