these guys can actually sing live. have real strong voices, actually coach, and are still fresh.

only person i take seriously, out of all the judges that have been on idol is Sr Tyler. lol

That's exactly how I feel. I think American Idol is stupid, but I am into the voice...

American Idol has too much nonsense. The Voice cutting out the idiots just trying to get on tv makes a big difference.

I find Christina really annoying though.

I've never watched this show before, but after just watching some YouTube videos, you guys may have hooked me. I never watch American Idol because of the stupid stuff you have to sit through to get to something good. If this show is just about talent, then I'm going to watch.

Its suppose to be about talent, but they're clearly looking for those who have the looks as well...also, many of them are experienced, some even pros, so i wouldnt give too much props to the coaches...at least not compared to idol. I'm pretty sure idol has their own coaches, some who probably helped singers like Aguilera, levine, etc clean up their voices early on as well.

What i think is the difference, and like most, is the head to head battles....they have to be on top of their game because at that very moment they're hearing their competition.

Actually, i disagree for the looks part, well at least cee-lo isnt looking for the prettiest person, if not he would have chosen my baby kelsey ray instead of those brats.

<3 kelsey ray. she is so hot.

The Voice is terrible. I feel the show is more about the judges than the actual contestants. And, let's not get into the actual production of the show. EXTREMELY amateurish.

Christina wants her team to win. Cee Lo wants his team to win, Adam wants his team to win....I thought it was all about the contestants?

Idol jumped the shark when Simon Cowell left the show. He knew it was going downhill and jumped ship at the right time.

That would have been an awesome performance sans Christina.

There was a matchup last week where they were commenting on stage movements and they constantly talk about "owning the stage" and "connecting with the audience". These are important things for a performer for sure, but the show is called "The Voice". That's the gimmick, that none of the other stuff matters. I'd like to see them stick with that.

As far as the coaching. I don't there's really a ton of it going on. It looks to me like these 4 battle round episodes were shot over the course of two days, like on a weekend. They get some time in the studio and then some time on the stage on the same day and then perform the next night, hell, maybe even the same night. So you've got 16 individual matchups sharing facilities on the same day. That doesn't leave a lot of time to spend with the celebrity coach. There might be some coaching going on off camera, away from the studio and stage, but I doubt it. While I do think the coaches are trying to help as much as they can, I think the celebrity coach angle is largely BS because there's really not a lot of time to do much. I'd be surprised if any coach spent more than an hour with any matchup of singers prior to the performance. That's not "working" with the singers.

Hopefully that changes with the live shows when there will actually be a week between when the episodes were shot.
