Interesting idea dobro but I hope to god it doesn't happen.

Ersan+ Jennings + Fournier is a vomit inducing trade for Dwight.
hes just the bad type of tweener. IF he could guard both forward positions well then the Magic could have kept him with Gordon. But he can't. (and neither can Gordon). And Detroit uses a much more aggresively switching defence. There's no way Harris is able to guard 2s. lol

Morris is better in the switching defence than Harris.

Btw don't forget Rhyno too. Now that SVG is out his price will likely not reach the ludicrous expectation of 20 per..then again you never know. If BKN sells Young they could just spend money left and right.

Not bad for Detroit, I think some of you are overrating Harris though. He put up numbers last year on a bad team. He's a tweener in a bad way, isn't a good 3pt shooter, can't defend either position, is not ridiculously quick or athletic. Don't see much potential in his game, he's a solid 6th man though. I think Orlando is happy they got out of his contract and got a nice stretch 4 in return. Good move for both teams.

IMO a massive steal for Detroit, and a massive headscratcher for Orlando. Harris is solid, but I can see him fitting well along with KCP, Johnson, and Reggie. Doesn't make Detroit contenders or anything close, but they will most likely make the playoffs. Orlando on the other hand makes no sense. This trade turns their backcourt into a crowd of ball dominant guards, and Jennings hinders Payton and Oladipo's developement(although one has to wonder how much more development Oladipo has left). I'm assuming Orlando is not done yet, cause if they are this makes no sense whatsoever

I like the trade for ORL. Got 2 expirings and one of them (Jennings) may end up staying as he and Skiles work well together. Also, Harris was at their deepest position.

So far, SVG has been doing a great job with Detroit.

    - Makes the bold move of waiving Josh Smith's big contract
    - outbids to sign a coveted free agent in Reggie Jackson, which has so far worked out
    - lets Monroe walk and allows Drummond to develop as the frontcourt centerpiece
    - Picks up Tobias Harris

In less than two years, he's made the Pistons semi-relevant and interesting to watch again. If he hasn't messed up the team's cap situation with these moves, it's quite impressive.

Is that a joke? I don't get it.

Harden and OKC went to the WCF's...OKC never won less then 47 games while Harden was on the roster.

    So did Tony Wroten?

There is extremes on both sides, but its clear Harris isn't a star and isn't a D-league player like Wroten.

He's a solid role player who will serve well off the bench, but is overpaid.

If he comes out and explodes on Pistons I will eat crow, but his type of game has little potential.

I think he would be an excellent second scorer on a team where Harden draws so much attention. We can see he's not a full blown primary scorer, which is probably why his numbers are not great this season.

But based on what everyone is saying about his defense, I'm not sure we could survive having him and Harden on the court together.

Having said that, I think he will eventually be able to guard PF's. The position is shrinking quickly, Harris is barely a tweener in today's NBA.

Excellent trade by Detroit, I have no idea what Orlando is doing. They have like what five point guards now?

Good trade for both teams. Detroit turned their backup pg and a veteran for a young starter who can create his own offense and on the verge of entering his prime at the same time as the rest of the lineup in place now.

Orlando loses a young good player, but was a poor fit in regards to spacing for their scheme, and gets a scorer and shooter out of the point guard position to compliment Vuc. Elfrid has some qualities but it's tough in today's nba to start a point guard who can't shoot from outside, let alone one who can't shoot freethrows, especially with a solid presence down low. Add to that Oladipo's inconsistent offense and Tobias' lack of outside shooting and you have an easily defended team with zero complexities. If Jennings can get back to that scoring potential he displayed before, then this would be a coup for a small market team.

Illy brings more to the table than Frye.

Detroit, rising power in the East.

Drummond (22), Jackson (25), Harris (23), KCP (22), Johnson (19) and Morris (26). Young core, they'll get better, especially if Drummond learns how to make a free throw.
