Even though i was against the idea of getting Dwight, i have to admit, our package deal is way better than Brooklyns.
This is terrible for the NBA but this is probably what stern wants... his big time market cities with big stars... w.e the NBA is getting worse and worse but of course we all watch hoping it will change.
Oh well, time to resurrect the Gasol trade threads. If Dwight goes to Brooklyn, there will be so many Morey fail threads that this board will be unreadable.
Ken Berger @KBergCBS [rquoter]Sources confirm discussions have resumed between the Magic and Nets about a trade that would send Dwight Howard to Brooklyn. The complicated scenario would involve the signing/trading of Brook Lopez and Kris Humphries, along with MarShon Brooks and 1st-round picks. The Brooklyn scenario isn't imminent, and it isn't the only one Orlando is working on, sources say. Orlando GM Rob Hennigan also trying to engage the Hawks, Rockets, Lakers and possibly Mavs in Howard talks. Full-court press.[/rquoter]
Unless the Magic can turn KHump, Nelson, and J-Rich (3 starters) for Pau's two year contract. I don't get why they'd want to lock themselves into a long term KHump deal with no star player.
@KBergCBS: Orlando GM Rob Hennigan also trying to engage the Hawks, Rockets, Lakers and possibly Mavs in Howard talks. Full-court press.
The question is how much $ do you bet on him? He can score decently, but really how good is he overall? Not much of a rebounder, not a great defender, never been on a remotely competitive team.

Dynasty Teams = Public Popularity It is good for the overall finances of the league. And though they can be dominant, the dynasty teams are at huge risk. You need to look no further than your Houston Rockets to see that. One bad back or broken foot bone and it all comes tumbling down.
As I said, Orlando's interest lies in making the other teams bid up-- so they should make it sound like they value the Nets package.
I smell a possible three-way with Lopez coming to H-town. Maybe for Martin's expiring, a youngin' and picks?
It's in Magic's interest to make it seem like they're close to a specific deal to get other GMs to pony up a little more. In the end, the Magic will trade Howard for the best deal they can get. Given that NJ is dried up in the top lottery pick department, I can't imagine they can trump our offer if Morey is willing to sell the farm. Not unless Orlando think Lopez will be a franchise player.
You know, I think I call the bluff. The Nets deal has too many moving parts with the SnT negotiations required for two players. And their agents know the pressure the teams are under. And, it sucks for Orlando at best. Morey " uh yeah, fax me over a copy of Lopez and Humphries' contracts"
No!!!!!! I cannot root for a team that facilitates a trade to make a super team, David Stern let them off the hook the first time! But he won't do it this time!
