Kinda went off the radar there. Remember, the Bobcats-now-Hornets didn't trade him and then released him a day after he could sign with potential playoff teams. Then he wasn't heard from until now.

Rudy T used to pluck guys better than Ben Gordon is at this point in his career out of the CBA for $11,500 on a 10-day contract.
Looks like they are trying to meet the Salary floor. Also conflicting reports that the 2nd yr is a team option.

Somehow I thought Ben Gordon had left NBA a while ago. $4.5 mil per year is a steep price for him at this point of his career.
I think I read somewhere that it's non-guaranteed in the 2nd year though. $4.5 mill to see how he does this season. A big high but meh if theyre trying to meet the ceiling.
WHATS the point of trading aflalo who is alot better and signing a player for that price specially when past his prime long time ago.
Tank city, they need bodies, and they need salary to reach the minimum, this accomplishes all 3. If they have any reason other than that.....well, I just don't know what to say.
If true, has Orlando sunk so low as to suck up to Oladipo now? Anyway, I like the idea of creating an non-guaranteed contract for the purpose of salary matching in trades. It can be quite useful, even though when they did with Nelson, it turned out to be worthless so they just cut him. But of all the players to overpay for, Ben Gordan? Is Spree or Eddie Curry not available or something? I think it makes more sense to overpay for someone like Chuck Hayes type. A hard worker who will always hustle on D. Not sure how a quitter who helped overthrow a coach will help that young core.
