Over the last few nights, as I've watched this scrappy team of hard working players fight and claw and make games exciting for home and away fans, I can't help but think of how they remind me of the Luv Ya Blue Oilers. That Oilers team was a bunch of scrappy, hard working players that was easy to relate to. They played in a down economy, and while players salaries hadn't grown completely out of control, the effort and work they put in definitely endeared them to a crowd of hard working Houstonians. Fast forward to 2009/10, a spriraling economy, and these Houston Rockets. With no stars and most of the payroll in street clothes, these hard working players personify the attitude of that Oilers team. There energy, grit and trust in teamwork are also the same attitude that many of us are having to rely on in work enviornments where the budget is down, hiring is froze, and you are still expected to outperform your previous years work with less staff and more challenges. Kudos to these guys and the effort they bring. I have more fun watching these guys scrap then I have since the champion years. Kudos to Adelman and Morey who continually strive to get the most of what they have and refuse to bow to external pressures. Luv Ya Red!
Let it go. The Oilers are never going to come back. This is Clutch City. We are RED NATION and welcome to BATTLE RED.
That team didn't choke - they just ran into better Steeler teams. And hell, one year we did beat them had it not been for a blind ref and no instant replay.
These guys are pretty good too and know how to play together. Young nutcases may try playing hard, but probably jack up bad shots as result.
