Get a taller, stronger shooting guard through the draft or free agency(assuming Landry doesn't eat up the MLE) and then trade Luther for future draft picks or cap relief. Or better yet, package our expiring contracts along with Luther's for Mike Miller. That solves all our problems right there.
Yes, that's exactly my point. Doesn't it tell you something? The TWolves had pitifully little talent and they gave up on him. Head has been useful for us in many occasions. He did poorly against the Jazz, which exposes his limitations. Green has NOT been useful even with a talentless Minny team. Head has at least one skill that is useful to every basketball team: shooting, a quick release at that. Green has no skill (yet) other than being able to jump out of the gym. Of course, he has potential, and is possible that he can become a good player. But I think the sentiment is that he is not a hard working kind of kid. Think Darius Miles. I am not saying that Head is good enough. I really think that the Rockets' number one priority is to upgrade the backup 2/3. Green is definitely NOT the answer for that need.
Utah has his number. Head thinks he is not good enough to compete. Expect to see a new player next season. He will work hard and improve more than you guys could imagine. To everyone who wants to trade him, what do you guys think we could get for him? Honestly, his stock is at an all time low. He wouldn't make or break a package deal. We drafted Head, not Monta Ellis, Linas Kleiza, David Lee, Maxiell, or Brandon Bass. There's nothing you can do but b****. He only makes $1 million, he is a good spot up shooter, and cutting to the basket. Stop trying to find scapegoats because it's getting annoying.
Honestly he really disappointed me in this series in the last game, but then again everybody disappointed me except Shane Battier. I think you're right about his stock being too low to trade anyways. People look for two things in a trade: potential and experience. I don't think he has any of that. 1 million for a player like him is definitely a bargain and his contract is ending soon. If he doesn't ask for too much, I see no reason to let him go.
You guys do realize his stock is at an all time low. If we are willing to "let him go" don't expect anything else back in return except maybe a 2nd rounder.
For those teams whose goals are to make playoffs, Head is not a bad player. He is good in regular season.
