Can they still require Gasol for bynum and other crap? That would be a legit team Irving Waiters Deng Gasol Verajao
Good move by the Bulls. Should have started rebuilding last season instead of waiting forever for Rose. Better late than never though.
I think that if he gets anything, the trade partner would be an over-the-tax-limit team. Lakers perhaps would be the best match since they, unlike the Knicks and Nets, likely realize that they have no little hope of making the playoffs (East-West gap at work here). Trading some small contracts Jodie Meeks for Brewer or something like Kaman for Brewer+Smith would save the Lakers some money and bring them closer to the tax line, making it easier to get under in a subsequent trade. Also, a few of their minimum salary guys can be traded with no matching going the other way.
I really like the trade for Cleveland. Rose isn't going to be happy and could be put on the trade market soon enough in the next year or so.
To try to stop being a perennial lottery team, make the playoffs, and get the bird rights to a star SF.
Chicago is accumulating assets for a run at someone. They aren't going to make all these picks. My guess is that Melo is a diversion...they are really going after Love. Unfortunately, they have a good shot at him.
Yeah, I think you're right. Dunleavy (Bulls) is who I've been thinking about the last several days, but I wonder what this does for Chicago now. Are they in full selloff mode, or are they pretty much done because they're under the luxury tax?
I wonder if Thibs and the Bulls will divorce this summer. It's not a happy marriage for Thibs, but he's locked in until 2016. Maybe the Bulls will let him walk away.
As Dion Waiters demonstrated in that comeback attempt against the Pacers, they have some great talent on the team. Besides scoring/defense, a proven vet like Deng will help the Cavs get their act together. Awesome stuff for both squads.
