Yep, this is a legit concern. Our peak offense this season won't be as deadly as our peak offense from last season. The way I try to view it is that we sacrificed some of that O for D because last year's peak defense won't nearly be as good as this season's peak defense should it all work out. We're spoiled by having both Chris Paul and James Harden though because I feel like they will still be able to maintain a top 5 offense in the league. Like you I am optimistic it will work all out if we avoid injuries.
Remember how no one wanted to play with Harden? We got starting caliber players taking vet min to come here now.
I have a feeling the Rockets are stockpiling a player or two to prepare for letting go other players in a Melo deal
Third string vs starter. With Black and Mbah Moute we aren't totally crap in the third unit. These guys are vets that'll be solid. If they're your starters you're in serious trouble.
This guy is one of those scrubs whose shots only fell when he played the Rockets. Good thing he won't be playing unless its an emergency.
But where did we sacrifice O for D? Chris Paul is clearly better at O than Bev was, and while Harrell and Dekker have a lot of O potential, their production actually wasnt much better than Black, Tucker or Mbah. In a few years those guys may surpass on O, but not next year. Edit: forgot abt Lou. Still, he seemed more theory than fact when with Rockets.
great depth signing. shocked he's a minimum guy. CP3 bringing the defense to Houston with Tucker and Luc-mbah
You still need shooters to go along with them when one of them is out. Gordon is really the only one (not including whoever ends up starting PF) that scares anyone as a shooter.
lou williams isnt a good scorer off ball. He has to have the ball. He doesnt fit on a team with chris paul and harden. Lou wasnt what I call a reliable scorer last year. It comes and goes randomly
Those are the same people who like to **** on Andre Roberson because they don't know jack **** about basketball. OKC just gave Roberson a huge extension, and considering his offensive limitations that should tell you something. Every impact stat that exists out there, including RPM, puts Roberson and Mbah a Moute as overwhelmingly positive contributors when on court, ahead of guys such as DeMar DeRozan, Carmelo Anthony, Jabari Parker, C.J. McCollum, etc. Go figure.
I will give you that. But...Don't you think he is still a more reliable scorer than Tucker and Moutte?
