OK, I know I'm going to get A LOT of negative feedback for this but just as the tile says, would you? I say yes. With the way old our post guys are and how they have been playing and with how sh***y Patterson is, even though McHale loves to give big praise for him to USA Today... Patterson had 10 points and 10 rebounds in Sunday's win. "He needs a big summer with a lot of individual work," says McHale, who has yet to work extensively with his post players because of the 149-day lockout and truncated training camp. "He really knows how to play. He's unbelievably intelligent, a great team defender. He needs to tighten up his individual game where he really can make that 15-foot to 17-foot jump shot and then get his post game down where he becomes a two-way type of offensive player." The Rockets are in a win now mentality and we simply don't need to rebuild anymore, we've almost got all of the pieces, just get Houston a Superstar. Stoudemire fills this gap even with the departure of Lowry + Scola? (New York is going to want a lot). We give them a somewhat star and a solid PF for an All-Star PF. I think this is great because Stoudemire gets his own team where he will be the focus (career highs when he's the man). Also, if you're in the Southwest Division and you don't have a solid PF, you're never going to win the division: Randolph, Duncan, Caveman (the one in Dallas, not New Orleans). Granted this only helps our team with a good draft/summer free agency (K-Mart trade) and the resigning of Dragic.
Ok, so he's gotten injured...is that your only reason? He's gotten injured a lot less than many players in this league and the only reason he's not in Houston in the first place is because we drafted Yao over Amare. And you want to talk about injuries...........
As in 20+ per year UNinsured. Knixies are better without Stat due to Melo; better without Melo because of Stat. Uh, them two don't work together and the Knixies are stuck with the pairing.
Why would you say in your original post that you know you are going to get negative feedback and then get super defensive when people do t agree with you? Amare is garbage.... Back issues, micro fracture issues. It would be a waste of money. We need young talent for the future, not declining talent for right now.
1- this goes to the random trade thread. 2- plain and simple. No. With the injury issues in Rox. We be seeing 20m in street cloth for the next 3 years. 3- If its pau and nene. Sure at least they are more consistent then any of rox current post players.
How about no? Amare doesn't have the explosion he had just 2 seasons ago. Not worth bringing in a $100 million contract. Hopefully, we sign Dragic and look for the best deal out there. If we get one great, if not than we hold on to both of them. Yes, they're both good enough to start, yes it's hard to pay someone that kind of money to potentially come off the bench, but talent is talent, and when we have sorely lacked talent at the pg position for so many years, we should do everything it takes to make sure we hold on to the best pg for our future. We need to analyze where we are going as a team. Do we want a tough, defensive pg, capable of 15/5/8 on any given night? Or do we want a push-it first pg who can give you similar numbers without the rebounds or defense. This is a really tough decision though, I like both. I prefer Dragic with Lowry off the bench, but they're too proud for that.
