Hoping the Wizards can get in the top two, because anything after that you have to strongly consider trading the pick in this weak draft class. Especially if you're a team like the Wizards who could easily be a contender next season in the eastern conference by adding another experienced starter. I think Blake Griffin is a no-brainer at #1. Yeah he's a freak athlete , but more importantly he has a work ethic to go along with it. Too many picks have been wasted on guys with a lot of physical talent that just have bad attitudes and/or weak characters (Kwame Brown comes to mind). You don't have to worry about that with Griffin. He needs to do a lot of work on his skills, but the combination of physical abilities and scrappiness should make him a productive player in his first season. If the Wizards were to get Griffin, I'd say he comes off the bench for most of the year behind Jamison, but could possibly work his way into the starting lineup. If the Wizards get the #2 pick I hope they draft Ricky Rubio. Definitely a risky pick, but to be honest I think it's one of the least risky picks the rest of the draft. Anything after that and I'm looking to trade. No matter what happens the Wizards should have the biggest turnaround in record from this year to next. They'll be getting back three of their starters from the 2007 season, plus whatever a high draft pick gets them this year. Not to mention a successful coach in Flip Saunders. I'll definitely be watching tonight!
Oklahoma City is praying for No. 1 so they get Griffin. If that happens, the Thunder will be scary in a few years time.
i am actually hoping for this after the rockets the thunder are fast becoming my favorite team to watch westbrook (former bruin!) and durant are a lot of fun to watch and it was great seeing them play this season with Scotty B as the coach
its on ESPN right before the Lakers/Nuggets game this is just the lottery the draft is on probably june 25th
If the Wizards get the #1 pick and draft Griffin, he isn't coming off the bench. Either Jamison will be traded or something else will be worked out. I think Griffin will start from day 1. Rubio is a roll of the dice. He won't contribute much at all for a couple of years. I don't think he is ready for the NBA. If he develops into Steve Nash down the line, good for him.
I wonder if Griffin might play some center, or slide Jamison back to SF and find out if Butler can play SG. Jamison is the heart of that team.
Yo, I'm a DC kid too. I'll always root for the Wiz unless they're playing Rox. I'd love to see Griffin in a Wiz uni. I really think they can make some noise w/ healthy Arenas. Definitely looking forward to catching some games at Verizon Center.
OKC needs Griffin, hell Griffin could still attend OU in Norman and drive down the highway for 15 minutes and get to OKC. The Thunder would be dangerous in a few years if this happens though.
does anybody, aside from OKC, maybe cause of geography, even want to win the lottery this year? I don't know much about the draft this year but I don't know if the quality at the top lotto is so much different than mid-lotto.
Well i'll be if Scotty Brooks isn't the coach of the OKC Thunder! The Original Rocket's Guard Brooks!?! SOB! And Mark Bryant too? Staff stacked w/ Rocks!
I think if they get him they have to move both of em up a position ,but that would be a line-up I'd like to see. Agent 0 Butler Jamison Griffin Haywood/McGee
I was going to say Clippers myself...but they did pick Gordon, so maybe there is hope... Nah, probably not.
