Our crew is bad. Although I kinda like Bull.

The wolves have a good crew...

I really hate the celtics crew. So much complaining

I like the Clips TV team a lot as well. Every time I watch a game by them I say to myself Lawler and Smith are very good, Smith is good with providing interesting stats about the Clips and Lawler and him are great team. The guys do their homework on the Clips and teams around the league.

They are homers but I don't mind homers, if you're watching a Clips game 90% you're a Clips fan so that won't hurt their approval ratings. I see the Knicks are rated the top broadcast team but that's largely Breen who's great but their Clyde while colorful with his signature slogans like "moving and grooving" dishing and swishing" comes up short in the in depth analysis dept.

    Who cares?

I still love laughing at Bill, Bull and Clyde's silliness. Very home-spun folksy style. Now that I'm not watching games a lot, I miss them.

Bill is THE best to do it. So what he's a homer? He's been calling Rockets games before a lot of you were even alive. Prolly before your parents even met each other. Clyde? Ehh. They really need to bring Calvin back

I love our crew and I am pretty certain that at the beginning of the season there was another article (and ClutchFans thread) which listed ours as the best commentators in the league.

Wasn't there a poll not too long ago that had our home crew #1?

Bullard is aight but complains too much. Bill is a legend but he's getting senile. Clyde is unbearable and adds nothing of value. He's like a soundboard.

do people really consider bill a homer? dude puts the rockets on blast ROUTINELY. part of the reason i like him. and bullard almost always calls fouls as they are, often changing his mind after the replay is shown.

i have no clue who's the best and really don't care to find out but the rockets crew is solid enough. hilariously enough this exact crew was rated the very best in a different ranking just a few months ago.

Don't really care. If the game is nationally broadcasted I'm still watching it on Root

It is time for a complete revamp. Worrell is an old timer and out of touch, Drexler is awful. Bullard is ok but I'd rather just bring him a whole new group.

They are only against them when they are not making them. Which is perfectly reasonable in my opinion.

I've heard way worse then this team. Home team announcers cater to the fan base so sorry other teams' fans but y'all can get bent. If Bill wasn't still there I could agree with it though. Bring back Calvin!

Honestly, the Rockets announcers are middle of the road, quite affable with each other. Other teams have it much worse with the homerism and seem to lack any chemistry.

Can't argue too much regarding the homerism, but I don't find them as annoying as, say, Boston announcers

Would truly love it if Ackerman could move over to TV whenever Worrell finally gives it up.

i love bill simply for the pure utter disdain and disappointment in his voice when a rocket makes a bounce pass turnover or missed layup. dude seriously sounds like someone shoot his dog or something.

Clyde is the absolute worst but the spurs shouldn't be that high!

I think Bill rags on the home team more than anyone in the league, and it's way more funny than annoying. He sounds like a disappointed mother.

Well, everyone has their taste, I suppose. For my part, I would much rather listen to our guys chat it up than 3/4 of the crews out there. I can see how they would be annoying to other fans, but they are entertaining and Bull in particular has good takes point the flow of the game. It's beyond me how you can listen to most of the NBA crews. It sounds like they are calling a golf match or a baseball game with some of these guys.

Beyond all that, I really miss the old days listening to Gene and Jim on the radio. Sometimes we would watch the game, sound off and listen to Petersen and Foley do their stuff. Pure gold, even if the sync was a bit off at times.

Bullard's biggest problem is that he confuses idiotic puns with "comedy." He thinks he's funny when all he's doing is making these tortured connections between words.

Worrell: "Bev fought hard for the rebound and put-back in there with all those tall trees."

Bullard: "So that should be a TREE-pointer, Bill?"
