Do you suppose if a majority of the House voted in favor of Al Green's racism impeachment, that somehow Trump would not be impeached? Would the Supreme Court step in and say, 'naw, that doesn't count!'
Nobody isnt getting impeached over a tweet unless he tweets the nuke codes Its a ridiculous exercise only to gain something for Al Green If the clause specifically says crimes im sure if he was impeached he would have some recourse since its NOT a crime
It's a crime against humanity. But yes, the only impeachable offense right now is obstruction, and they won't consider a vote, until they are done investigating. And I think they'd have to feel pretty sure the Senate would vote to remove him, which it doesn't seem inclined to do on obstruction. Impeachment is tough because they think losing will make him seem good, but when they don't, he'll be telling about no matter how hard the evil, hateful seems tried, they couldn't find anything on him. It won't be true, but truth no longer matters.
We do not have an openly apartheid state supported by the mass. We do have an openly racist president supported by a small minority of racist and enabled by a larger minority and by republicans in power. The increase of a bolder openly racist population and it spreading start with trump and the gop in power looking away. It wasn’t there, or at least they were pushed to a dark corner, where they belong, prior to Trump. You want to decrease that risk, put them back in the dark corner by winning the elections and winning it big. Win and put forward your views and agenda. Losing election has more immediate and lasting downsides. We are fighting back and will continue to do so and to what extend... If you believe that it can only go so far and you would be better off shifting as related to winning election, you wouldn’t do that? That sounds like undisciplined emotion to me. What do you think the DEM should do?
Trump's base can't get any more solid. But the Democrats face some risk of disappointing and de-energizing their base if they look like sniveling cowards in the face of wrongdoing. Not really. There's also the issues of emoluments and abuse of power. From there, it depends on how expansively you want to interpret the impeachment mandate. There is the campaign finance law violation. A case was made that the racist tweets actually broke federal anti-discrimination law too. You could say he broke his oath of office by discriminating here and elsewhere. These latter ones obviously won't drive the case against him. But, if you're going to do an impeachment with obstruction, abuse of power, and emoluments, you may as well throw every other thing you have in there too.
Ehh there are some moderate suburban white voters that may have been inclined to not show up to vote or vote for the democrat. The immigration scare and The Squad will, he hopes get those voters to show up and vote for him.
Of course they know it is racist, but at the end of the day he will scare most of them into voting for him anyway.
Ehh he took a stand for what he thinks is right. He exercised the little bit of control he has. I know a lot of people are piling on him, but under the circumstances I have more respect for him than those in Congress that complain but do nothing.
Abuse of Power? While he has tried, it is hard to say he has succeeded because of the courts stopping him. Campaign Finance? Happens frequently, so nobody in Congress would do that. Emoluments? Maybe. Discrimination? They couldn't make that case. It would be nice to impeach this POS, but unfortunately the people voted him in knowing he was a POS. Has to be pretty brazen action to warrant impeachment and ultimately removal from office. It will be obvious in hindsight that he should have been, but the information needed won't pop up until after he's already lost the 2020 election (or perhaps more accurately, Republicans won't finally pull their heads out of his ass until then).
Stop the histrionics. We don't live in an apartheid state and to claim we do now is incredibly offensive to those that actually did live under apartheid. If you want to go after Donald Trump, have at it. He is a horrible person with no clear morals and is clearly a sociopath. Many of his polices are terrible for the USA...... but we do not live in an apartheid state.
Impeachment is for crimes. Its a waste of time and Republicans would be right to condemn it as a waste of government time
