Most independent films dont have major studio backing. If this film does well @ Sundance then the studios will bid for distrubution rights. It looks like the Rockets might(off/travel day before game on 28th) be in Utah during the final showing @ Sundance. I wonder if Lin will be involved in any way @ this event.
They don't need to. The majority of Asians watch American films with white leads all the time. The reverse is not true.
Pretty sad definition of success. Most of the Asian women serve as love interests to white men in their roles. Most of the Asian men are Kung Fu artists or geeks. None of them have starring roles in any movies.
Why would they unless it is a kung-fu action comedy/comedy film or something though? It makes zero sense. Do Asian countries consistently cast White males in lead roles?
Or Last Airbender, they cast everyone as white people, with exception of brown people who represented the "evil" nation -- even though the cartoon was totally East Asian / Inuit -themed.
They don't need to. The majority of Asians watch American films with white leads all the time. The reverse is not true. Also, the white population in Asia is much less than the Asian population in America. Asian countries have white people plastered all over billboards, they consume American content with white celebrities a ton more than Americans do of any Asian content, American or otherwise (except maybe Asian p*rn).

So you are admitting the US population is much more racist than the Asian population. Also, you should not cater to the racists. Otherwise, there would still be whites-only restaurants, etc... because it's just "good for business". Stop trying to defend racism or pretend it doesn't exist.
I work in advertising & marketing, and Asians are much harder to market than Caucasians, so unless I am specifically told to hire an Asian model over a Caucasian one I am always going to hire the Caucasian model. Before you cry racist, I am Asian. It is the way the world works, give the consumers what they want, make your money, send your kids to school. You are getting upset over nothing.
Indeed he is. But he's just doing his job and looking out for himself. As long as he acknowledges that those decisions he makes is based off of the racism of white people in America. If only Asians were as racist against white people in Asia - there wouldn't be so many white people plastered all over billboards, and Asian girls wouldn't be looking to get double-eyelid surgery, nose jobs and dreaming of dating Tom Cruise.
