The anti Lina movement is laughable That Emmet guy was there a long time and he had friends. If you haven't lost the plot you can see through most of this movement. She hasn't done anything so egregious as to merit this nasty of a pushback. If they want to be mad at anyone, they need to look in the mirror. The blue wave in the area that took out long time republicans is a direct response to Trump. A complete and total repudiation of his dotard booty. Fort Bend actually went blue in 2018 but his office was not up if I'm correct. He's not running for reelection and he wouldn't win anyway. He has his eyes on a house seat.
I think she is doing a good job considering the situation. It is a step in getting back to work. Most of the people that i know are taking precautions. So many of my friends kids havent seen their grandparents in over a month including mine. I hope Lina stays on track and I am sure she will.
Nothing. I've seen some do it. Actually more often they will drop down a bit. But people usually aren't trying to be jerks so they mostly stay on. I think the store has the right to boot them but I have never seen that happen. Like I said, almost everyone is compliant.

There are plenty of public safety laws and regulations that impinge on our individual liberties but as a society we have recognized that there is a balancing test. here, we have a pandemic. A few weeks ago, I was a little embarrassed to wear a mask. Now, I would be embarrassed not to because we need to protect each other.

I think she's done a great job. I've also seen tons of criticism of her online, mostly from conservatives it seems. I honestly don't get the hate; Harris County has done very well with COVID-19 so far. I presume part of it is she's young and female. But I was mostly disappointed by the comments from the police unions that sought to make this political. If you want to open the economy back up, it seems reasonable to ask people to wear masks as you do so to help slow down the further spread.
She's young, female, hispanic, and not Ed Emmett...which no one believed could actually lose an election. So, she's going to be a very easy target for nitpicking even the most minor of decisions for the county.
