It is all about his effort He is still a little bit insecure in the Rockets, chemistry issue with the team
This team doesn't move the ball well because: 1. TT experiment. 2. Benching Lin 3. bad 3pt%, particularly from Harden. They can't simply rely on D and fast-break
I could care less if Lin started or not as long as he gets enough playing time. Would like to see him play around 35 min a game. He's been playing well this year
As a bench player, Lin may feel confused to work with so many different lineups. Starting him can give him some stable lineup to play with. Many TOs come from bad pass, not off. foul They start Bev. because of his D. But if he can't provide great D at the 1stQ, there is no point to start him.
He wasn't. two most used lineups in 2011-12: http://www.82games.com/1112/1112OKC2.HTM 664 minutes; Westbrook-Sefolosha-Durant-Ibaka-Perkins 96 DefRtg 409 minutes; Westbrook-Harden-Durant-Ibaka-Perkins 109 DefRtg 13 points per 100 possesions difference on defense replacing one perimeter playeer.
Too logical. You could say our bad starts are because of too many turnovers so Harden should come off the bench. No. Lin is coming off the bench because they are show casing Beverley (and Asik). Either that or McHale is a dumbass.
I'd prefer someone who's whiny than hateful. You mean Murphy is a Howard-only-fan? Witchhunt!!! At this rate, Lin's +/- is gonna be off the chart. Oh, my! No wonder they brought him off the bench!
I don't care who starts, but Beverley should not be getting 10+ more minutes than Lin like happened last night. That's just terrible coaching.
The ordeal here is not who start at PG, it's for McHale to admit it give ball to Harden to be the facilitator fail. Whole team chemistry crumbled. Would he do it? I don't know.
He had a good game last night, the problem is, even when he's terrible he plays more minutes than Lin
I agree with that. really doesnt matter who starts for this team, both PGs are good in their own right. I think Mchale was just trying to slow down CP3, so he left Bev out there longer.
Not a whole lot will change until we stabilize the C/PF and PG situation. If you're good enough you can leave one of your 5 best players on the bench (ie, manu). But till then this team needs to play with all 5 and that, to me, means Lin starts. But that's not near the problem as in our C/PF (should read C/C) issues.
I watched quite a bit harden when he was at OKC. he is the same player as he was in OKC. Liability on defense and a lot of ISO plays on offense. These are based on my eye test and eye test almost never tell the truth...
I agree with the HoFer as well. Lin should be starting and running this team instead of ISO Harden ball. Bev should be that spark plug off the bench. But McHale has other motives so it is what it is.
I would really like to see PatBev and Jlin together. I don't know if anyone else noticed but Patrick was off to a shaky start, once Lin went in his play changed and they both seem to make each other better. Also in Beverly's defense if you take out the Twin Tower from the equation and have either Casspi or Dmo on there instead of Asik, I'm sure a change will occur.
When you play 82 games there are just going to be game where you start slow....last year this was a borderline playoff team of course you'll start slow against much more talented teams, that shouldnt be happening every single game with the talent here and it's happening far too often. The problem is the offense...Harden needs to fall back and share. Even back in OKC the local reporters there said part of why they let him go is because of maturity issues and he get got worried about putting up stats. Take CP3 for example....best ball handler in the league...pretty much the only ball handler on the CLips starting lineup and he holds onto the ball less than HArden...lesson is keep the ball moving.
