    I think there are players who wilt under pressure, and there are guys who thrive on it, people like Kobe or Horry like having all eyes on them and taking the big shot. But I don't think any of them are clutch, because the term clutch is used on someone who can consistently seal the deal on a game, and nobody wins every game they play in.

    It's a myth, an urban legend that got popularized when some guy watched a player hit 2-3 game winners and blocked out the other 8 times that player missed a shot. Or maybe he watched a player "get hot" and sink 4 threes to win a game, and missed the next one where that same guy shot 1-5 and got benched during crunch time.

    This is why while I applaud VoA's effort, IMHO looking at clutch statistics is in the end fruitless. Maybe somebody can look it up, but I think the highest career clutch % for the best players in the league is something like 30%. If you're doing something less than 50% of the time I don't think it qualifies you as clutch.

    here is a thought, have u ever tried to expand your sample size to the whole league? or am i asking to much?

    but really really enjoyable read, keep it up, also if you have more articles like this can you link me because i can not search for them.

    thanks man, expanding the sample size is something i dont really care for to see.

    i have started writing 2 more articles for CF's like this however in Australia my University workload has sky rocketed and the only time i use to spend writing im now reading Larry Coon's salary cap FAQ to gain my knowledge.. i shall be back though
