Playing Yao at high post will definitely has one advantage: He can play longer minutes. Play low post requires a lot of wrestling, push and shoving which takes any your mojo. Yao will not be so tired if he have certain percent of shots from the top. Yao has been proved to be an average three point threats in China (International threes, about 20 feet).

convenient you forget arguable 2 of the best 5 players who ever lived...not to mention Kobe, Pippen, Kukoc, Grant, Cartwright, and Rodman

my point is that Shaq and Jordan don't need the Triangle; the Triangle needs them.

I'm just saying what many people say is the problem with the Triangle. It requires too much perfection, in both individual skill and perfect complementary players and perfect team timing/spacing.

    too much perfection.

Plus, what we see in the NBA now is not the triangle as first described by Tex Winters--and what your article and verse describes. I believe this so much that I actually believe (with no basis for this belief) that people just say it is the Triangle so their players will buy into it...when in reality it is just a spacing offense with many set plays using a 2-3 or 3-2 structure...with no more continuity of motion that one ball reversal to the weakside can produce.
