i agree that it makes no sense to mangle mchale's name. it just distracts away from what should be solely focused on….his horrible coaching.

This is a sidestep from the original thread topic. But does anyone else think that the Durant commercial where he is talking to the kid in the treehouse about Sprint make you think about him being a Houston Rocket someday with the way he takes off like a Rocket. Yeah ,I know ...the kid isn't the only one dreaming :p

It's called saving face. He's tryna sell next season, knowing how pissed the fanbase is for him bringing Mchale back. This organization will miss out on a championship playing PR games with the fans. Damn shame

Are people denying that this was an exciting team? That they made really good moves?

This guy isn't that serious about winning..its making money at his top priority. Thats why He went all in on Jeremy Lin and keeping McHale as coach..He wasted Yao and Tmac's primes and now he assumes getting players will better the team to a championship..NO sir just getting players doesnt win..you also need a coaching staff whos capable of getting to that level...Just sell your team to an owner like Mark Cuban who cares about winning no mater what SMH..

A team that wants to compete would look at Asik. He only has one year left on his deal and the Rockets can send up to $3,000,000 to a team in trade every season.

As far as Lin goes? A team rebuilding would consider taking Lin for draft picks.

I still think the logical landing spot for both is in NY. The Knicks are more concerned with 2015 free agency, and they don't care about the money.

The point is, if the Rockets really want to, they can clear a lot of cap space, but it will cost solid assets. My guess is Alexander knows that.

Nice. Alexander and Kevin combined have no clue what's going on.

They force Morey's hands and that isn't going well. Cleaning up after them.

Then the Rockets move Lin and Asik to a third team and sign Anthony.

    Good post.

What is lost in this entire scenario is that Anthony isn't the only option.

For example, if you add Lowry and move Beverley to the bench, the Rockets are certainly better.

Lance Stephenson added to the Rockets makes them a markedly better defensive team and adds a toughness needed.

Luol Deng is another very good defender that can guard 3's and 4's and score within the offense.

Players under contract like Rajon Rondo, Paul Millsap and Avery Bradley all could make a real difference.
