There's more to spending than putting money in the luxury tax. I don't know why fans think its the equivalent of commitment, paying the luxury tax means giving other teams more money to help their ballclubs. Les Alexander did the right thing, which is spend on things which don't help the other teams in the NBA:

    1. He hires big name coaches (JVG, RA, now Mchale)
    2. He invested money in $Ball technology
    3. He buys picks (Donuts, Landry, C-bud are all bought picks)

Those **** ain't free, and Les Alexander didn't have to spend on them. But he DID. BTW, the mid-level signings means the team is actually going over the Luxury tax line, its just that Alexander doesn't want any of his money going to other teams. I'm not saying he's the best owner ever, but you guys talk about him like he's greed incarnate, which is totally laughable.

If you want an example of a greedy owner, how about Robert Sarver? He sold all the 1st round picks of PHX which could have gotten them guys like Rondo, Luol Deng and Nate Robinson. Compare that to what Alexander has done and tell me he's still just out to make a buck? LMAO
