Yes we all know that Clyde is a hometown hero. But the intent of the "legends locker" is to "honor 11 of the FRANCHISES faces" as the article states and not honor 11 of houstons hometown heroes.

Definitely not arguing to put deke in there because like Clyde he spend most of his career elsewhere.

MM = Ming + Mcgrady, they must be the faces of the Rox town.

    100% agree.

I agree with all the people listed in the article. If you truly consider Mutumbo a Rockets legend then you probably should consider Battier and Scola as Rockets legends.. which they're not. Those guys are fan favorites, but they're not Rockets Legends.

It's been over 20 years and we're still remember Hayes, Malone, Murphy and Sampson as the pioneers for Rockets greatness.

Almost 20 years since their retirement, but we're always going to remember Drexler, Rudy T, and Dream. Always.

Francis, Yao and McGrady are still fresh in our minds. All three had sad ends to their Rockets career, but in 10 years when we try to remember the Rockets of the 2000s there will be three named immediately. Francis, Yao and Mcgrady.

I imagine if Aaron Brooks didn't suffer that devastating injury against the Spurs when Ginobili forced him into an ankle sprain, he would have been remembered as well. IIRC, the buzz was that he was turning into a borderline pseudo-star for Houston. Even more so than the later buzz for Kyle and Dragic.

Glen Rice! Charles Barkley! All of which obviously leads us to the Player Who Shall Not Be Named...

As has been pointed out already, Mutumbo was a backup with the Rockets. Every player on the list not only started but played in multiple all-star games as a member of the Rockets. Hayes (4), Rudy T. (5), Hakeem (12), Malone (5), Francis (3), Drexler (2), Yao (8), Sampson (4) and McGrady (3).

The members of the list are all retired players so obviously Harden isn't a candidate.

    Here's an interesting trivia question:

Who's the only player to play in multiple all-star games as a Rocket and not be on the list? Warning, it's a semi-trick question.

Being the 2nd best player on a Rockets championship team, a HOF player, a local High School and College legend will get that for you.

It happened to Tyson Chandler in 2012 and it happened to Marc Gasol in 2013 too.
