Kinda feels like he gave up on beating the Warriors and decided to get fat in La. 34 years old and this roster is like 2-3 years away from competing.
Don't forget they also have the room MLE that's just a tad under our own taxpayer MLE. It all hinges on Kawhi for them as far as I can tell.
lebron ruined his legacy. staying in cleveland would have been a better choice because he would've still somewhat got a pass for not winning a championship with them because it's cleveland. now with LA there is pressure to win a title and if he doesn't he will be a tremendous failure. the problem is LA's roster is trash and has no direction. luke walton is not a great coach and the players they have don't fit the current landscape of basketball. they don't have the shooters to beat golden state or the rockets even with kawhi. lonzo is a bum. this is a horrible move that doesn't make any sense at all from a basketball perspective. congratulations lebron, you played yourself.
Another genius move by LeBron. The winner is clearly the Lakers organization. They finally have the big name to draw the fair-weather fans back to the fold. The loser is a toss up between LeBron and the NBA. Providing any major injuries, it will be BOS vs GSW in the finals. GSW is intact for another couple years at least. So unless LeBron somehow manages to get to the finals (and wins of course), this will forever cement the GOAT debate. For anyone who thinks LeBron has a chance to come out top in the West, the Lakers have to build teams to dismantle HOU and GSW. If he stayed in the East, all they would have to do build a team to beat GSW.
Hmmm, well I would beg to differ. Lebron can take any team to either conference finals (at least), by himself. Plus, to my mind, while the Cavs might have stayed about the same if Lebron had stayed in Cleveland -- ie, somewhat competitive -- there was no guarantee that they would get any better. We'll see.
We needed Ariza and Capela to help orchestrafe the plan for them to sneak in Lebron's room and lock his ass in there.
That was true when he was in the East back when it was a historically bad conference, it's not true in the West. The best case scenario for the Lakers would be the 3 seed and a second round exit but honestly I'm not sure they'll beat out the Jazz and Thunder for that spot and could go home in the first round. This was a disastrous mistake by Lebron and I'm going to enjoy every second of it.
