Do you seriously believe that Bernie Sanders and AOC are the leaders of the Democratic party? Perpetuate all the myths that you want, but that's not reality.

You can do D&D things in the GARM and the Dish. Go into any thread and start talking politics. It doesn't matter which thread. They are all the same now.

Don't miss this once in a lifetime opportunity. :D

I agree, there's definitely people that work harder than me who have way less than I do. There's people that don't work nearly as hard as i do that have way more than i do.

But just because someone works hard does not always equal to wealth and success. Someone working in construction works way harder than a dental hygienist, but a hygienist is likely to earn more than a construction worker. If a construction worker doesn't like his pay, he has every right to quit and find another higher paying career.

THIS is the point i'm making - if you don't like your circumstances, you have the right to change it. Nobody is holding you back from making those changes. There are endless opportunities in this country to raise yourself from poverty to success. There are countless of amounts of people in our country that have gone from rags to riches. Lebron grew up in the hood with a single parent. Love him or hate him, look at him now. Oprah was born into poverty i inner-city Milwaukee. Look at her now.

If someone is born into poverty, that is not their fault. But if they're still in poverty as an adult, that's on them.

... Taxes? We already pay those, just need to stop wasting so much money on police and "defense".

We already pay for health insurance right now. It’s not like under private insurance, the health care infrastructure costs are just covered by Jeff Bezos or something.

We actually pay an additional 20% now because of the costs needed to cover marketing, admin, and executive pay. We also pay more because insurance effectiveness is all about the size of the pool of the insured which lowers risk which lowers cost. We pay more now because of the fragmentation of insurance pools which leads to higher premiums per pool.

So to your question, the citizens or the insured always pay for their own insurance. Socialized or private. However there’s just no real serious debate that shows evidence private insurance customers pay less here in the US than public insurance tax payers pay in other countries. You’d find very little evidence to support such a claim because of the basic fundamentals of how insurance works.

It doesn't really matter who is paying health insurance, government (tax) or private. The American healthcare system has always been extremely inefficient. We spend by far the highest cost and our overall health is below average among developed countries. All the so-called healthcare reforms by whatever political parties just shifted the cost. They never addressed the problem of skyrocketing cost with no real impact to health. Nobody ever tried to fix the root issues that make the system so inefficient.

You are both wrong on this issue. Truth is there is an extreme element of the Democratic party that believes in Socialist philosophy and that includes Sanders, AOC (and the Squad), Diblasio, etc. There are (much, much) more moderate Democrats as well that follow a more traditional Democratic philosophy. The real question is where Biden actually stands. He used to be against the more radical philosophy, but now there is confusion as to where he stands and nobody knows if it is just to get votes or if there has been some sort of actual change in his beliefs. Since he’s a politician, we won’t likely know the answer to that question until after the election.
