Awesome, loved the emotion, you could see the kid in him. I love that he did it at home, with Jabbar there, wearing #6 in the last season where that's possible I believe. The season where they honor Bill Russell, #6, makes it definitely more symbolic. Black History Month for some I can imagine too!

I wonder how far is he gonna stretch this record to make it even harder to surpass.

Not only lived up the high school hype but turned his weakness into his greatest strength. Rare. He earned all of it.

He is like a cheat code in a video game.

And scoring isn't even the thing he does best.

At least he is no Immortal and can't crack the All time Championship record.

Reminding us that mankind is fallible.

What's the best thing he does? Tough to say he's a better passer/playmaker than a scorer when he's going to finish in the top 5 in points per game and top 25 in assists per game. Scoring has always been his best attribute, BY FAR. The pass-first player narrative is just wrong.

It was clear that he was going to stat stuff because let's be honest the Lakers except the bubble experience are a mess and he is lucky to have won that asterisk ship.

There is nothing wrong with it.

I think what he does better than scoring is his allround talent around facilitating, rebounding, steals, blocks along with his D when he was in his younger prime.

That won him the majority of his titles.

To me, I didn't really give a **** if he got it. He can reign as scoring leader for now, but it will be broken again soon.
