NEW ORLEANS -- New Orleans Hornets forward Matt Bullard did not pass his physical because of a degenerative disc disease on his lower spine, team officials said Wednesday.

Bullard will begin the season on the injured list. He missed 37 games last season because of injuries, 35 because of back spasms. He averaged 3.4 points and 1.5 rebounds in 31 games last season.

Didn't see this posted yet. Poor Matt. Looks like we might never see Bullard shoot a three again (can they just "pass" him on the phsyical later if they need him? I'm sure he'll be a superstar fly fisherman or broadcaster. Anyone know if he would make a good coach?

    First Hakeem, now Bullard...

Is there something about playing for the Rockets that give players back problems?

    How about we don't...

I understand he was a fan favorite, but Bullard was basically a journeyman that stayed with the same team for nine seasons...

    1) Definitely retire the Bull's jersey.

    2) I thought back spasms was just the made up injury they used to store people on the DL.

I'm sad to hear that he might not be playing anymore,he always bounced back strongly even after a string of poor games. The young guys on our team can learn a lot from his positive attitude and professional approach to the game.
I wish him good health and luck in his future.

Bull should open a sports bar!!! it would rock!!!

I bet you he gets a standing O if he retires and comes back as a coach or announcer or even replacing the game announcer, Mario! That is the ticket.....Bull doing the Rockets intros!!!!

    no offense, Mario:rolleyes:
