I am looking for some advice from the Clutch knowledge base. I need a small, thin and light laptop to travel with. It doesn't need to be too powerful, but I do want it to be able to run full HD video without any problem. I am thinking about buying this: http://www.walmart.com/ip/Refurbish...essor-and-Windows-8-Operating-System/23569496 Will this PC be up to the task? Any advice on this, or general advice on what processor would be sufficient? Thanks in advance.
You can find a lot of refurb deals in the $300 range with better processing power than that. For example: http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=8524327&Sku=1MB-101772840
Check out Newegg refurbs. I like at least i5 and since you don't need much storage, go SSD. SSD is the best thing you can do for your computer for the buck.
always wanted to try the ASUS transformers: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834231812
I know its a different model but I owned an ASUS Transformer tablet that ran android (tf700t) and it was the biggest POS I have owned. It was slow and very buggy and died on me after less than a year of light use. On paper it was amazing but I feel completely duped.
It can do 1080p, no problem. I have owned this tablet/laptop as well as a Dell Venue 8 Pro (Same processor family). It's not the fastest CPU but it's adequate for most things.
