For some reason, I have found him to be a little more bearable as of late. The points he brings up about the Texans (and sports in general) are far more pertinent, and agreeable than the crap he was spouting a year ago. Either that, or maybe I've just gotten dumber....either one is possible.
Matt Thomas is starting to sound like he hates his life. If I had to sit there and listen to people wonder why the Texans wouldn't trade Mario Williams for Jimmy Clausen I would probably go mental as well.
I know this opinion is probably in the minority, but I'm growing to not like The Big Show. I think LZ is one of the most knowledgeable people out there when it comes to football, but since he's come over the show has gotten annoying. MJ seems to have gone way over the top with his rants lately and Wex disappears a lot. The voice impressions things I've never been a big fan of out of any radio host. Sure, they can be funny, but not when they go on for too long. What's more annoying than an obnoxious Jersey accent guy? A radio host doing the voice of an obnoxious Jersey accent guy...for 10 minutes. That's the kind of stuff that makes me change the channel. I've been loyal to 790 since Charlie first went over there years ago, but since LZ joined Matt & Adam I find myself going to the iPod more and more in the mornings. I just think the 3 of them together is a bad fit. Give Lance the 10-12 spot and let Mighty move to nights permanently. Just my two cents.
I really enjoy the football talk on 790, especially with Lance's dad on - great insight. It should be Matt and Lance, with Matt playing the straight man. Wex to 610 or 1560
they recently added sean pendergast to lance's old spot. They are pretty entertaining. This milo on a mobile is pretty funny. http://www.1560thegame.com/audio/milo-on-mobile-tells-us-about-his-dirty-old-man-switch-3830/
Lance Adds alot to the morning. The 10 o'clock hour with him alone is pretty good I was thinking they were waiting until Mighty's Contract runs out to do something about him . . . Rocket River
Does Heterosexual Craig cry too much about race relations? Does he think he's the Malcolm X of Houston radio? He got his ass fired, and his pee pee hurts. Either that, or his show sucked. Hetero Craig: Hey, we have Lil Flip on the radio, Hey man, what do you think of the Rockets? Flip: I have an album dropping. It's about the same **** as last time. It drops soon. Hetero Craig: Okay, do the Texans need a black quarterback that might throw ten interceptions? Flip: I have an album about rims and moneys and hos and stds. It drops soon. Hetero Craig: Does Barcelona have what it takes to repeat in Champions League? Flip: My album drops next week. the blog he runs looks like some 1999 Angelfire/Geocities website.
No kidding. I've always thought that about his site. I actually like his content from time to time. With so much turmoil and turnover in the Houston sports media market, it's nice to have someone covering it all. David Barron of the Chronicle reports media news, but he doesn't speculate and cover it like Craig does. But with that being said, the site leaves a lot to be desired, as does much of the writing on it from guys like Mike in DA and Lamont.
It may still be on, but he had a show with Marcus Coleman on 1430 AM for a while. When I listened briefly a few months ago it was pretty much what Kam described.
One thing I really miss about Houston is being able to listen to 790. The sports radio up here in Austin is terrible, unless you're a Cowboys fan.
i can usually pick up 790 and 610 faintly in my truck, on a clear sunny day. i use the iheartradio app too, if you have an auxiliary input on your stereo it works great.
