http://m.espn.go.com/nba/story?storyId=11166650 It looks like the Pacers are only offering 8.1 million per season, about half of what Lin is due to make next year. Lance says he wants to play for a contender and won't just sign with the highest bidder. If I was Morey I'd be all over this, especially since Lowrey is about to sign a new deal with Toronto. Stephen is not only a solid scorer and rebounder but he can play defense. Thoughts?
Seems like a big risk to take. I'd do it if we're sitting here in a week and we've missed on all our free agent targets and Love hasn't been traded. Then you flip him in December for Love with a smile.
Lance Stephenson just makes too much sense. More perimeter D, more versatility without sacrificing offense, and all at the cost of what Lin makes now: 8-10M. Just do it already Morey. Then sign & trade for Love and call it a night.
My problem isn't with lance it's where/when does he play? For everyone saying no new knuckleheads and talking about his shot. 1) We have no knuckleheads now and 2) We have shooters in our starting lineup and hopefully will sign a couple more for a low price. We need defendse and intesity, and thats what he brings. He's not gonna do half the s*** he did in Indy here because that won't be his role. We have enough nice guys, besides bev we need toughness. He's also 23
Can we get lance to agree to come off the bench? Or do we start him at PG? Either way is fine with me IMO. But I think our Bench needs lance moreso than iyr starters need him. But the problem is agreeing for himn to take that role. If he's willing, Sign him up.
He's a 2/1. He'd be a good fit if we didn't have to overpay. If we could get him in that 8-9 million range, he might give this team a little more toughness.
I disagree. Harden and Howard both are have slight KH tendencies. Luckily for us, they keep them toned down.
As a sixth man? I guess that would be a bench upgrade but I'm just not a big fan of Stephenson's game. A lot of chunking, a lot of shenanigans... I think I'll pass.
