Okay. So, in other words, you have no idea what you are talking about and don't really watch much baseball?

    Thanks for clarifying.

McCullers 2 seamer was all over the place yesterday. Even on a lot of his strikes he missed Castro's target by a pretty wide margin. Hopefully that had something to do with nerves. He had control issues in the minors, if that's indicative of his control on the pitch that isn't gonna fly in the majors.

The curve and 4 seamer were as good as advertised, but he needs to find a reliable 3rd pitch.

I thought the change up flashed plus potential. 88-90 MPH with decent drop.

Sickels named it a plus pitch in his report before his start:

    http://www.minorleagueball.com/2015...ct-lance-mccullers-to-make-major-league-debut

He is talking from reports though, but other guys have been mentioning that his changeup has taking a large step this season.

Trade for Ceuto and move McCullers to the back of the pen. My blood pressure can't handle much more of Gregor.

Well he never mentioned it had to do with a pitcher, you simply assumed both thoughts were connected;)

Saving that one for after game 5 when we sweep the rest of the games this season.

Is it assumed that if Conger caught McCullers that he would be a better pitcher? No clue why Hinch is so dead set on making Castro catch.

The two seamer is a very important pitch for him, as it is sometimes seen as the slider coming out of his hand. He also gets good movement compared to his flat four seamer. His change up has come a long way. He didn't use it as much as I expected, but even at 88 mph guys don't get a good read on it.

Command is still a real problem for him. It improved at AA, but it can still be a struggle. He reminds me of Daryl Kile in that way.

The era's of the pitchers the A's faced today.

    1.67 , 2.81 , .052 , .045

Yeah.... shocking that they scored 1 unearned run.....

What did you think about Lance McCullers promotion? Does he stick in the rotation and what is his upside?

Surprised he came up that fast, especially since he hasn't been pitching that great as a starter in AA. Fastball has great run but no sink or plane; slider was plus, definitely an out pitch; command was below-average and even on TV you could see how hard that arm swing would be difficult to repeat. I would still say more likely a reliever/closer than a starter.[/rQUOTEr]

Hasn't been that great as an AA starter?

Clearly, he's basing that off the fact that McCullers has walked 11 in 21 innings as a starter.

11 walks in twenty NINE innings is not bad at all

I mean if you aren't counting his back end tandem starts that is really just cherry picking stats.
