If Aldridge takes the big money in LA, does he get the Melo treatment (money over contention when given the opportunity)? It's only fair.
Absolutely, although I'd say his situation is more similar to when Melo first came to New York (back when Amare was still a viable player and it looked like Chris Paul was going to come over shortly). To me, Melo cemented his legacy as a money/attention chaser this past summer when he turned down us and Chicago to stay on an atrocious Knick team. The Lakers, at least, have young players, trade assests, and cap room to make a sales pitch that they'll be a winning team in several years.
Or you can say Melo's legacy is a family man and wanted to stay with and do wha't's best for his family (wife).

I don't know if he'll bust, but he definitely looks bad out there. Once he puts his head down and drives to the basket, he gets total tunnel vision--I don't think I've seen him kick it out once in the two games he's played so far. I know that the Summer League makes players play selfishly, but he can't even finish. Half the time he misses the shot through traffic, or he gets absolutely stuffed as three defenders swarm him. Too predictable. Russell isn't looking much better, either. He's obviously looking to make the home run pass, which make it easier for defenders to read him. As a result, he's a complete turnover machine. It doesn't help that he can't hit a jumper to save his life. But yeah, yeah. It's only a few games in the Summer League. They aren't looking good so far, is all I'm saying
the fakers fans are reaching Knicks territory. WOW Booing dleaguers and rookies? WTF BTW I always thought that Randle wont be as good esp not as good as Lakers fan are believing him to be. However he is just coming back from injury and this is his first matches. It's totally normal to be rusty. Give it some more time.
Yeah, I think I posted after last summer league that Laker fans were greatly overrating Randle. They didn't want to trade him for Kevin Love. He's not a good rebounder and isn't really athletic or a good leaper. I guess he has pretty long wing span, but otherwise nothing special. His only move is trying to dribble by his man from the perimeter and muscle his way to the rim. Actually kind of reminds me of Royce White. lol
