No kidding. Adelman and his staff had all the ingredients they needed, and add Terry Porter. Smart offensive mind, defensive strategists in TR Dunn and Porter, and the ex vet respect factor in Jack Sikma and all those guys named.

Am I the only one who thinks that Nash can adjust fine. The player who won't like it is Bynum.

Nash is one of the best shooter ever. And he's smarter than most guards in seeing the weakness of the defense. If anything, he and Gasol would kill any defense running the princeton.

But they'd better trade Bynum. He's going to whine about not getting the ball.

defensive rating is not the ultimate proof. Even so, there were seasons when they were 21nd, or 23rd in defensive rating while still a contender. I would not say in the Rick Adelman era, they were a top 10 defence.

    lakers

    nash 38
    jamison 36
    bryant 33

    artest
    gasol
    blake all 32

    jordan hill 25
    bynum 24

    thunder

    collison 31
    sefolosha 28
    perkins 27
    maynor 25

    durant and
    westbrook both 23

    harden and
    ibaka both 22

only way i see lakers competing with the thunder is if they get dwight howard. in the playoffs they will run the lakers into the ground.

and by the way the thunder's youth is deceptive because they have a hell of a lot of experience in the playoffs relative to there ages. ill also guess they will have the best record next year with homecourt.

Itll "just" be more like the Dallas Steve Nash, who made 2 All Star teams with the Dallas.

Again, imagine Adelman utilizing Gasol in the high post. Good thing he's in Minny

In terms of fit best to worst, its
    Gasol
    Kobe > Nash
    .
    Bynum

Nash isnt a high volume shooter now and he will turn 39, so Bynum will probably still be 3rd option by a nose. But probably wont see as many touches on the Lakers like he did last year.

No matter what offense they run Kobe will always get in the way of Nash+Gasol and Bynum. Nash's natural game is to make everyone better. How often have we seen guys leave Phoenix to have their stats and efficiency go down on their new teams? Or guys joining Phoenix from other teams and then playing out of their reach. All thanks to Nash. But this aint gonna be the case as long as Kobe remains the number 1 option for the Lakers.

Gasol and Bynum have the chance to put 25+ each every night efficiently with Nash running the show. Under any offense. But with Kobe taking 30+ shots every game, well .............

    From wikipedia:

All five players in the offense—including the center—should be competent at making a three point attempt

This is the perfect offense for Bynum, he gets to show the world he's on Dirk 3pt level.

Lakers got no shot. While I believe they will make their offense work, they still won't be better than OKC on neither side of the court.

The Princeton offense is hard to learn. All that movement--I wonder if Kobe, Andrew and Pau will buy into it.

Why doesn't Mike Brown like the triangle offense?

It's no harder than the triangle.

I always viewed Nash as a drive and dish point guard. And does Bynum have good enough passing skills to operate in the high post, passing to back door cutters? Gasol? We already know that Artest is not disciplined enough to stay in the offense.

It takes a year for a team to get the nuances of that Offense down and most of the Laker starters are well in their 30s. That team should use more of a basic dump itin to the low post or a lot pick and rolls.

Because he does not understand it. How many coaches have successfully used the triangle offense outside of Big Chief Triangle?

NBA avoids that offense because it requires players to be unselfish...

2 straight years getting swept out of the playoffs and then adding a 38yr old starter to an already old roster >>> fakers are done.
