Not that they should, but it wouldn't be crazy for the TWolves to offer the #1 for Cousins. At least, unlike the Cavs and Love, Cousins would be locked up for 3 more years. And if KAT turns out to be as good as Cousins... well, probability is low and it will take 3-5 years. Of course their core is 3-5 years away. But could both teams benefit from something like the below: #1 pick, Kevin Martin, Ricky Rubio For Cousins, #6 pick Sacramento rationale Rubio seems like a PG that could work well with Karl. Martin has done really well in Sacramento in the past, and was off to a great start before last year's injury. And they get the #1 pick and KAT. Minnesota rationale Seems like they want to move on from Rubio anyway. Martin is a nice player on a solid contract, but is coming off injury and doesn't fit into the rebuilding movement. They give up the #1... BUT they get Cousins, and the #6 pick, where there's still talent. LaVine, Wiggins, Cousins, Dieng, Pekovic and the #6 pick, plus cap room. It's a solid base to build on. Your concern is that you are still a couple of years off, and Cousins is likely very tired of losing. Anyway, just a thought.
If the Kings are willing to bit on Howard for Cousins - Morey better throw everything at them but Harden. I mean Howard Kpap (for cap clearing reasons) #18 #32 Jones or Dmo Take back Boogie, Landry and Collison
Kobe and Cousins on the same time? I can only imagine the chemistry issues. Cousins if motivated correctly (huge IF) can be a great player that can put up numbers but does not make sense for the Lakers unless they can get someone else as well (possibly a significant free agent).
All the talk, but if things are so bad in Sacramento, then one of them will have to go. Guess they didn't anticipate this disaster. Or thought they could work through it: "Well, Boogie doesn't want Karl now, but he'll warm up to his new coach." Survey says: X X X Over to the Divac family!
Both. Warning signs were there. It was said Cousins and/or his camp didn't want Karl. D'Alessandro/Kings hired him anyways. Of course D'A is now in Denver with Malone, who he didn't want in Sacramento. One big ol' cluster****. *************************

Here is a lineup of players who tweeted about snakes after playing for George Karl. Those guys wanted to be traded. Who is the last max-type franchise player that was traded against their will?

DeMarcus Cousins' response to trade rumors is a trend among George Karl-coached players http://t.co/NZjcRzEZz5 pic.twitter.com/JmB9gKUrkf
— Bleacher Report (@BleacherReport) June 23, 2015

Harden? Didn't he say the Houston trade took him by surprise? Seriously though, everyone already wants a trade when they get traded, it's because the trust is gone when the max guy learns he might be traded and so would want a trade by the time the trade gets finalized. For example in this particular scenario Boogie Cousins now wants out of Sac as you can see from the quotes above this post. This is also why guys like Kevin Love and all the rest of these other guys voiced their desire to be traded before they got traded. In the hypothetical scenario that we want to trade DH, he would request a trade immediately once he learns Houston wants to trade him so even if the Sac trade doesn't materialize we would still have to trade him so I don't think there will be a "ruined reputation" case for Houston.
Harden was a 6th man when he got traded. He wasn't a centerpiece of their franchise and wanted a bigger role. Kevin Love had wanted out for a year - he had made clear he wanted to go to a contender and wasn't going to stay there longterm. Cousins is a good example of why not to try to trade your superstars that don''t want to leave - they've now created a situation where if he doesn't get traded, he may be back to being a malcontent, and Sac's front office is coming across like a bunch of morons.
Cousins in the #1 center in the league, a 24 year old 6'11 270 superstar who is an absolute monster. The dude just came off his best season with career high's across the board. 24 ppg 13 boards, 3.5 assist, 2 blocks and 1.5 steals per game while shooting 47/78 % from the field and FT line. Who in the hell would ever trade that away.
If the Rockets trade Dwight, you can kiss off any chance of them ever convincing a star free agent to sign with Houston, not w/o a no trade clause.
